yes_a_weirdo_hm··on High Crime Forces San Francisco Federal Employees to Work Remotely
Bro really said 80s/90s NY. I'm aghast.

I mean there are people making it in Kabul, doesn't mean that anyone who complains about it is a pansy.

yes_a_weirdo_hm··on German military's mission impossible, attracting recruits
Nah bad news all around. If Germany cannot keep up with basic NATO requirements, for example on spending, it imperils NATO readiness overall (since other partners have to pick up the slack). Hard to counter certain actors in Eastern Europe if your military operates on a stringshoe budget.

Lets also be real. If Germany puts in less in terms of funding and readiness, it opens itself up to exploitation by other NATO partners who in a pinch would be more then ready to excise certain concessions in exchange for running cover when it comes to NATO overall readines.

yes_a_weirdo_hm··on ‘Bullshit’ After All? Why People Consider Their Jobs Socially Useless
The concept of "bullshit jobs" is so hilarious. Honestly it like someone watched "Office Space" and thought it was straight up revolutionary philosophy.

Then decided to stake a huge chunk of their academic career on it.

I assume the creators of said concept regard their jobs as of the utmost importance and regard.

Lol. Lmao even.

yes_a_weirdo_hm··on Sam Altman isn’t the answer to regulating artificial intelligence
For a lot of people bally-hoing about Sam Altman trying to trick Congress into letting him hold the reigns of AI regulation;

Good. What would be even better if AI researchers and engineers applied en-mass to be the in-house technical advisement staff for congressional members and executive/congressional regulatory agencies for AI.
