טקסט חדש מהספר שעומד לצאת
yanivleven··on [dead]

We just launched today and would apprecaite your help!

Seemoredata is a data context engine with trained agents and algorithms that identify cost performance and workload inefficiencies and automatically enforce the fix with Guardrails. Currently delivering an average of 40% cost reduction on Snowflake environments.

Snowflake Adaptive Warehouses are now in public preview. We tested out them out and think they are fantastic! (but dont offset all the engineering challenges) read more in the blog post

At the beginning of the 20th century, a charismatic, highly articulate, and openly antisemitic intellectual rose to power in Vienna, then the cultural and intellectual capital of Europe. His ascent was driven largely by a popular backlash against liberal elites and established political parties. Despite his virulent antisemitism, he surrounded himself with Jewish acquaintances who offered him legitimacy. He insisted he was “not antisemitic,” while portraying Jews, not individually, of course, only “as a group”, as corrupting, dangerous, and harmful to society. The “good Jews” were those close to him. The rest were a problem. His rhetoric was refined, intellectual, and morally laundered by Jewish thinkers who saw themselves first as Austrians, only secondarily as Jews, convinced that enlightenment and proximity would protect them. At the time, his policies caused no immediate catastrophe for Jewish life. Later, in a much darker chapter of history, Adolf Hitler wrote in Mein Kampf: “I learned a great deal from him, and I do not hesitate to call him the greatest German mayor of all times.” Hitler did not copy him, he studied him. He refined his methods, stripped them of restraint, and weaponized them with far deadlier consequences. What frightens me about New York today is not what will happen tomorrow, but what can happen when cultural norms shift. The world is never short of Hitlers, Stalins, or Genghis Khans. What restrains them is not their absence, but society’s moral immune system. When intolerance is normalized, dressed in elegant language, and excused as progress, the restraints weaken. Maybe nothing happens now. Maybe nothing happens here. But somewhere, someone is watching. Learning. Adapting. I hope I am wrong. And if I am not wrong, then I hope we recover our moral compass quickly, because if we fail again, it will not be out of ignorance, but out of cowardice! out of the refusal to confront evil when it is articulate, charming, and pretending to be virtuous.

yanivleven··on Snowflake Gen2 vs. Gen1: performance and cost analysis
Snowflake Gen2 warehouses deliver 30-60% faster performance through improved CPU architecture, wider vector throughput, and faster memory bandwidth. But they cost 25% more per second (35% on AWS). Which queries run fast enough on Gen2 to offset the higher cost?

John Im not sure I understand your first comment, using Panoply you dont need to do any of that and with Panoply's automation they were able to optimize and save all that time and money
yanivleven··on Trump Recognizes Jerusalem as Capital of Israel
Totally disagree. This wont cause a war. If Trump wanted a war he could have gone into Syria but he did not and left that battle to Russia and Iran. This announcement was the right thing to do and should have been done a long time ago.

They are, but not the way it is depicted here. Its gonna be with artificial muscle tissue that enhances strength

Very interesting read. Im a big fan of his work even though some of it might be a bit off. It was part of the inspiration to building my company. This is the first blog I ever wrote about the company:

yanivleven··on The blockchain paradox: Why DLTs may do little to transform the economy
I do not believe that a deregulated system can catch to massive economic scale because there is a trust involved with currency.

The minute a currency is distributed with no regulation it can be monopolized and its price shifted up and down by the power of the monopoly.
