yacn··on Peter Eckersley has died
so this guy gets to break tos for years yet you ban me after one infraction.
yacn··on Stop Payment: A homeowner’s revolt against the banks (2012)
Good thing i don't give a fuck about the bible and i didn't contribute to the great recession and brag about it.
yacn··on How to Hire Your First Engineer
well i think software engineers would likely be unionized if that were the case.

> I took advantage of most of them as a real estate investor and did many of the shady things myself that help cause the real estate bust

wow so you're a real piece of shit.

yacn··on OpenPGPjs has passed an independent security audit
No but there's incentive to provide many small half-truths out of context to shape the narrative into one beneficial for yourself want.
yacn··on Press leaks during Google's all-hands meeting enrage insiders
No that's you curating the platform you own to conform with the terms of service you laid out when users signed up. Which is exactly what happened w/ the alex jones stuff, it was always against youtube's ToS.
yacn··on Google Employees Protest Work on Censored Search Engine for China
False equivalency as has been said and I don't use google anyways...
yacn··on OpenPGPjs has passed an independent security audit
And I stand by mine that I'll never use or recommend Private Internet Access.
yacn··on Google Employees Protest Work on Censored Search Engine for China
Would love to know more about this if you have the info handy.

Youtube doesn't need to support free speech. They're a private company, not the govenrment.
yacn··on OpenPGPjs has passed an independent security audit
This is exactly my thoughts as well. rasengan is the cofounder and thus is very biased against ProtonMail since they're a competitor.
yacn··on OpenPGPjs has passed an independent security audit
> Perhaps I should start posting our achievements a bit more.

Maybe, but don't do it in someone else's thread trying to steal the spotlight from them... Really bad taste.

yacn··on OpenPGPjs has passed an independent security audit
Well one things certain: I'll never use Private Internet Access after this ridiculous comment from you[0] not even three months ago.

yacn··on The Secret API of Banks
> somewhat

that's generous.

yacn··on The Secret API of Banks
fine. bottle caps it is.
yacn··on Ok-Cancel versus Cancel-Ok
Axiom Verge (a metroid-vania) starts you off by going to the left first, just like Metroid did.
yacn··on EFail – Vulnerabilities in end-to-end encryption technologies OpenPGP and S/MIME
Sorry, I'm just not nearly as familiar with the intricacies and differences between them, know that you definitely know your stuff on crypto, and always thought Matrix seemed cool/interesting.
yacn··on EFail – Vulnerabilities in end-to-end encryption technologies OpenPGP and S/MIME
Why don't you recommend it?
yacn··on Ask HN: Why does everyone bash Trump? Seriously
You disgust me.
yacn··on Ask HN: Why does everyone bash Trump? Seriously
Okay fascist.
yacn··on Ask HN: Why does everyone bash Trump? Seriously
You're fucking insane if you think that's going to happen.
yacn··on Realistic alternatives to Apple computers
My MacBook Pro from 5 years ago when I started college just died due to a logic board failure a couple of months ago. A new board was ~$600, so I saved up a little more and bought an Intel NUC. I'm missing the portability though and my Dell 11 chromebook is a bit too small to use comfortably.

I don't _need_ one right now, but I'm definitely in the market and weighing my options.

yacn··on First Tesla Taxi in America after 100k miles
My understanding is that yes, he could, but then Microsoft is paid for the Windows license which he does not want and will not use, so they lose out on the profit from that license by him paying more for an exclusively Linux laptop.
yacn··on Distributed Logging Architecture in the Container Era
We use Sumo Logic which has a Live-Tail feature [0], albeit I haven't used it myself yet.

yacn··on Let's Encrypt root certificate trusted by Mozilla
Do you mean .tk? AFAIK .info costs money.
yacn··on Learn Docker by building a Microservice
AFAIK (last I looked into this was ~6ish months ago), scaling databases in docker containers is a hard problem that currently doesn't have a clean solution. Vitess[0] is a solution, but it didn't seem quite ready for production last I looked at it.

yacn··on Reddit launches image uploads, ditching alliance with Imgur
The "direct links" only ever redirect to the non-direct version on mobile for me. Doesn't happen on desktop though.
yacn··on The Shut-In Economy
To be fair, the "30 minutes" assumes that all the prep work is already done and that all you're doing is following the recipe from there.
yacn··on How to Buy Bitcoin with PayPal or Credit Card
I was under the impression that PayPal had banned use of their service for anything Bitcoin related.
