xnacly··on Manual work is better than bad automation
Great tips for improving automation <-> user interaction
xnacly··on How to optimize websites for fast loading and slow network speeds
I agree with everything you said. I included lazy loading because I hate having bad network connection while on a train and having to wait 5 mins for a page to load for silly images and fonts, which arent even on the screen.
xnacly··on Parsing XML at the Speed of Light (2012)
I recently made a very stripped down XML to JSON parser, specifically for parsing RSS feeds, for a react native project:

xnacly··on New documents reveal scale of US Government’s cell phone location data tracking
Thats a really bad justification, if their edge depends on spying they shouldn’t exist
xnacly··on An update to paid sharing
Here's the thing, i probably use netflix 1h a day at a minimum but this is really outrageous. I mainly have netflix to watch shows while driving to work and for my parents and my little siblings, otherwise i wouldve already canceled.
xnacly··on Linux Sucks 2022
Really sad to not see this on apple podcasts :(
xnacly··on Linux Sucks 2022
You‘re right, it’s probably days for me, every time i take a look at r/unixporn i want to change my setup to a new colorscheme.
xnacly··on Bunny fonts – privacy respecting drop-in replacement for Google Fonts
This looks really interesting, does anybody have an insight on whether or not all families on gfonts are also on bunny fonts?
xnacly··on pass – the standard Unix password manager
The only issue i found myself having using stuff like this is syncing to my mobile phone. Currently i am very satisfied with bitwarden due to their firefox extension and mobile ios app which integrates with the ios keychain. Pass sadly isnt usable for me.
xnacly··on Cool desktops don’t change
You could use google docs or libre office, both support offices proprietary file formats

I use the build in math command in fish[0] on a daily basis. Its always faster and way more comfortable to just type an equation in instead of waiting for a gui calculator and possibly clicking operators together. Id say for such tasks cli tools always win at the end in terms of user experience and speed.

xnacly··on Mundane chores are all the rage in gaming
I tried it before but it just seems incredibly boring to me
xnacly··on Show HN: LinkWarden – A self-hosted bookmark and archive manager
I viewed your page on the iphone 12 mini
xnacly··on Show HN: LinkWarden – A self-hosted bookmark and archive manager
Overall thats a neat idea, but I found two small things to criticize: Maybe revisit the responsive design, on my phone everything is all over the place. Also there’s a typo in the setup guide.
xnacly··on Show HN: Umbrel – A personal server OS for self-hosting
I'd say its just a gnome theme or something. It's not that deep.
xnacly··on Lukol – A “Privacy” Search Engine
If a search engine needs cookies to operate, its neither private nor something for me.
xnacly··on Notes on Ukraine: I spent most of April and some of May traveling around Ukraine
Incredible interesting insights about the situation, very great read.
xnacly··on The Tools I Use to Write Books (2018)
Thanks, sadly Monodraw isn't cross-platform. Would've loved to use it.

I find the flowchart visualizing the pipeline very intriguing, can someone link me a tool I can use to create similar charts?

xnacly··on LunchboxJS – Vue 3/Three.js custom renderer
The example at the top of the documentation is just so much fun :)
