Last time I tried to do this (run iGPU as a compute coprocessor for the CPU) it was no longer supported, the driver enumerating both but forcing the use of one only.
The small print (of my card) mentions a maximum vehicle value. Every time I’ve asked for the vehicle’s value when renting abroad, it’s been higher than the card’s maximum.
Sorry, was an offhand remark about solutions that may end up harming us further when applied on a planet-wide scale. How much of this stuff needs to be made to actually have an effect, and with how much energy? When any attempt at reducing CO2 is met with city-sized warehouses full of kW GPUs powered by gas turbines, adding to century’s worth of GHGs you start to feel what is the point of even trying to pretend there’s a way out.
I use a chess clock, hitting the rocker whenever I get up from my desk, or otherwise interrupted. It’s been useful for quantifying how much time is lost during the day and allow me to “bank” time should I need to step away for a bit.
In games only one console vendor allows you to write shaders in asm, though it is not very productive, especially with RDNA. Reading the compiler output is a good-to-have skill however, for teasing the compiler into better register usage, reducing divergency, identifying problematic folded math, and debugging live GPU hangs.
I was trying to join a meeting in Teams from the calendar when up popped a “How are you enjoying Calendar” star rating dialog. I’ve never once listed “Office Calendars” amongst things that I enjoy. Much less now with this needy feedback blocking me from entering the meeting.
