This was done on purpose Every hour but you can get similar results with one longer Training session. Heck I only train 3-5 days per week and problem burning fat with enough intensity or volume.
Yeah, I don’t see how few extra bucks is worth literally risking life. Total numbers look big but really it’s $120 more per each shift where you can be exposed or expose others to a deadly virus.
Show me that magic unicorn company that spins data centres like that with 0 documentation bugs and I’ll join you criticising them. As it stands with limited resources I am pretty impressed with the speed AWS keeps adding capacity around the world.
Not that relevant as the shock is slump in demand. Printing more money etc makes it cheaper to buy things but people are still not buying so oil etc is in a free fall. Traditional interest rate based intervention doesn’t make sense you are just adding even more money available to a system that doesn’t want to spend it. Instead it needs to be targeted intervention that transitions the economy to the new reality and measures something different than quarterly gdp.
One way to win at anything in life is to be counter cyclical. Sure you can also win by being best but the numbers are stacked against you when everyone is doing the same.
As someone funnily quipped the pandemic is so bad that most places are out of stock on podcasting microphones.
If everyone is podcasting and writing apps then it’s much harder to get through the noise.
Find something that no else is doing, maybe something that requires physical presence, just to be contrarian.
So now might a great time to write some software but now and in a few months will be a particularly hard time to turn that into a profitable business.
Remember VCs don’t care if you take losses.
“ If you can buy distressed property or businesses at the "end" of the pandemic”.
Even if that goes as planned timing it is going to be tricky as there are a lot of punters in the same business- VC firms buying distressed businesses for a living
You need to rebalance your portfolio as you get closer to retirement as you can’t time the market. I think by the time you’re retirement age, your portfolio should be 30% equities
Assuming one made the right choices and is 100% cash, what now? Do you buy the dub on equities? In my view cash is also getting diluted by gov action, which can be nicely summed up by the meme money printer go brrrrr
Lots of people are complaining but to me it shows the market is working - oil goes down because of decreasing demand and I don’t see why it should be otherwise.
I still think, consistent (as in ACID) persistence layer is a huge gap in the early design of k8s ecosystem, so it still feels like you're wrangling against the architecture to have something persisted.
A good example is an otherwise excellent Monzo banks's architecture, they've built a very impressive backend it seems:
https://monzo.com/blog/2016/09/19/building-a-modern-bank-bac...
but they still had a production outage cause by Kubernetes:
https://community.monzo.com/t/anatomy-of-a-production-kubern...
I really see a big conceptual clash between a consistent database view and k8s ephemeral everything, not sure of object storage is the enswer to that.
if you go East from where the client is based, it is easier to do biking/hiking/skiing in the mornings, before work at HQ starts, due to the timezones. It is also cooler in the summer and usually less busy.
I am tired physically but refreshed mentally before the work even starts.
"The office is 5-20 minutes away" is unrealistic if you plan on having a family AND a career that involves working in more than one place.
Heck even the bad scenario "The office is 1 hour away" is kind of optimistic given how population is distributed.
So remote work is the future for most senior/sufficiently advanced knowledge jobs in my view.
Hiring good programmers who are not too far out on Asperger/ introvert scale is an issue. So you can fix it by letting programmers only worry about the tech part and letting PM prioritise things.
I think motivation will not be as high but it is a way to get things shipped and profitable.
it’s mostly virtue signalling- they described an older couple who bought some cheap land there, still live in Perth and offset their carbon footprint by planting some stuff on that land.
I’m glad you scoped it well computer vision is a somewhat narrow field and therefore say for a logistic company AI can be applied to some but not all businesses processes. It’s an improvement but not a revolution.
