xan_ps007··on Launch HN: Hamming (YC S24) – Automated Testing for Voice Agents
is there an open source variant available? I am building https://github.com/bolna-ai/bolna which is an open source voice orchestration.

would love to have something like this integrated as part of our open source stack.

xan_ps007··on Show HN: Bolna – build and ship enterprise grade voice AI in minutes
hey! that's a great question. Initially, we had multiple processes for every component (ASR, LLM, TTS) and using a configurable settings pair of endpointing and token_size we used to handle it since for some cases latency might be an issue but some some others (where there are longer responses) it might not be that much of an issue. Later on, we also integrated with caching and routing to minimize unnecessary calls.

xan_ps007··on Voice Isolator: Strip background noise for film, podcast, interview production
We have built a dockerized open source stack for Whisper + Llama3 + MeloTTS. Whisper and MeloTTS for now works fine for our use cases. https://github.com/bolna-ai/bolna/tree/master/examples/whisp...

xan_ps007··on Ask HN: Is open sourcing your code still an option with the rise of AI?
We open sourced our project long back - https://github.com/bolna-ai/bolna because eventually it'll be fed to the agent one way or the other :)
xan_ps007··on Show HN: Local voice assistant using Ollama, transformers and Coqui TTS toolkit
As mentioned few days before, we just released the end to end open source stack at https://github.com/bolna-ai/bolna/tree/master/examples/whisp...
xan_ps007··on Show HN: Local voice assistant using Ollama, transformers and Coqui TTS toolkit
Today we released our full open source end to end ASR+LLM+TTS dockerized stack at ->

xan_ps007··on Show HN: Local voice assistant using Ollama, transformers and Coqui TTS toolkit
What we have learnt is that big enterprises do not really want to use close source models due to the random bursts in usage which might drain their bills.
xan_ps007··on Show HN: Local voice assistant using Ollama, transformers and Coqui TTS toolkit
we have made an open source orchestration which enables you to plug in your own TTS/ASR/LLM for end-to-end voice conversations at -> https://github.com/bolna-ai/bolna.

We are also working on a complete open source stack for ASR+TTS+LLM and will be releasing it shortly.

xan_ps007··on Should I focus on GitHub stars or forks for my open source project?
Hi HN,

We have been in a pretty interesting case where the forks/stars ratio has been > 30% and growing steadliy in this ratio.

We understand that stars might be a vanity metric and hence we are focusing more on the number of forks and talking to developers using us.

Wanted to know about the experience on stars v/s forks towards growing the community and the overall project as to what worked best and what things we can avoid. I do undertand that every use-case might be different.

Thank you.

xan_ps007··on Show HN: Formshare.ai – free conversational AI forms for smart data collection
I thought this was "conversational" where the end user was speaking and the form was automatically getting filled up. This was something which we were actually looking to build as a use-case on top of our voice orchestration @ bolna.
xan_ps007··on The Time I Convinced the CTO Not to Outsource Our Developers
We're facing something similar - we tend to think of outsourcing all things that don't seem to be critical or P0.

xan_ps007··on PagerDuty pops nearly 60% in debut as tech IPO market heats up
How does the IPO works in US? Do retail investors get to subscribe to the IPO shares before the listing date? Or the retails investors can only "buy" the shares once they start trading on the exchanges?

Amazing concept. My only problem is the permissions it's asking while I tried to install it on firefox.

- Download files and read and modify the browser’s download history [Why?]
