wyem··on ResearchGPT: Automated Data Analysis and Interpretation
Seems very promising. I've used Claude a few times and the responses seemed significantly better than GPT-4.
wyem··on Show HN: Google Analytics alternative with the most generous free tier
I've been using Beam Analytics for quite some time and just love it for its neat UI as well as for a generous free tier.
wyem··on This week in AI: summary of news, tools and learning resources
I somehow missed your comment earlier. This seems a good idea! Will check this out for featuring in the next issue.
wyem··on AI-generated fiction is flooding literary magazines – but not fooling anyone
Interesting take. And yeah, I agree that present AI is far from being of acceptable quality with the long form content, especially for fiction writing.
wyem··on Using GPT3, Supabase and Pinecone to automate a personalized marketing campaign
Loved reading it. Will feature this in my newsletter on AI Tools and learning resources, AI Brews https://aibrews.com
wyem··on Fast Stable Diffusion for Mac
Great that it's open source!
wyem··on Journey from frustration with JavaScript stack to finding joy in Ruby on Rails
Coming from a Java background, I totally can relate with the struggles in JavaScript ecosystem.
wyem··on GPT Craze: 50% of 20 top posts in Show HN are AI/GPT related
I don't think it will wane off with time, but will grow more. The new apps based on generative AI are empowering an average user without the relevant skills to create in a way that wasn't possible earlier. From creating gaming assets to powerful animations, it's impressive. So naturally people are excited about this.
wyem··on GPT Craze: 50% of 20 top posts in Show HN are AI/GPT related
Similar is the case on Product Hunt as well. But it includes all sorts of products - from simple wrappers around GPT-3 etc. to truly innovative apps. It's kind of becoming overwhelming. I write about AI products and learning resources in my free weekly newsletter https://aibrews.com
wyem··on Show HN: Graph-based AI for longform writing
This sounds exciting. I'll feature in the next issue of my newsletter -(https://AIBrews.com)
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
Reading a good book is just like having a mentor. And a mentor can help you only when you are doing something and not just dreaming! So, both are significant.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
There is significance. These are bootstrapped founders. Made it on their own without investments. So, more relatable specially when they tell you how any book helped them in making business strategies.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
Yeah, appears to be the most favourite one amongst the bootstrapped founders.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
Well, a few of the founders have clearly mentioned how their business has been influenced by their recommended book. It depends on the book. And of course reading alone doesn't make anyone successful. A good book is like having a mentor.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
Seems so - from the founders' quotes in the same article.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
Yes, that's a nice one!
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
If you read the interviews, you'll find some of the founders are actually 'repeatedly profitable'!
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
Nice! This is the model that I personally love. Will check out the book.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
Made in Japan is an awesome read. The books recommended in this article are more relevant as they are from bootstrapped founders.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
No. If you see the quotes of the founders in the same article, a few have clearly discussed how the books had an impact on their business strategy. This is what I truly found insightful.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
Yeah, definitely. A few really good recommendations are actually in the quotes by the founders in the same article.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
See the quotes of the founders listed in this article - a few of them have explained the impact their recommended book had on their own business strategy.
wyem··on Books recommended by profitable founders
No correlation directly with the founders' personalities but definitely with their approach in successfully bootstrapping their businesses. The insights shared in the interviews and the way some of their recommended books had impact on their own business strategy, makes all this an interesting read!
wyem··on Ask HN: How to be less opinionated?
It's okay to have strong opinions, but it's not okay to not listen to contrary views and not changing your opinion once you realise you are wrong.
wyem··on Open Source PC That Fits in Your Pocket
Looking cute. Wondering how it will be useful though
wyem··on $2500 MRR on Notion and Google Sheets Add-On
Pretty impressive. What are you building for Coda? Is there a demand for it as I think their marketplace is relatively new.
wyem··on Ask HN: What are your recommended reads for bootstrapping a business?
Here are my fav resources:

Micro SaaS Ideas - https://microsaasidea.com - Newsletter (basic is free) + community (pro) for bootstrapped/solo founders. The content is superb - research backed insights & analysis.

Book: http://zerotofounder.co - covers both tech & marketing side. Author himself has successfully bootstrapped as a solo founder.

wyem··on Ask HN: Solopreneurs, how do you maintain a professional/social network?
Yup!
wyem··on Ask HN: Solopreneurs, how do you maintain a professional/social network?
I get you. This is not one of those. The discussions are meaningful. The newsletter is also not at all like those typical 'earn money' type selling junk - the quality is in fact quite impressive unlike the message one gets from the website. lol.
wyem··on Ask HN: Solopreneurs, how do you maintain a professional/social network?
Joining communities and virtual meet-ups is helpful. I really like this one: https://microsaashq.com - it's community plus newsletter for solo-founders/bootstrappers.
