wwzuk··on Loneliness may warp our genes, and our immune systems
For those that consider themselves lonely, learn about (and practice) stoicism and meditation. They will stop the spiralling thought patterns that are making you ill. This in turn will boost your confidence and you will become more interesting to others around you. Oh, and lift weights - always lift weights they do good things for your health.
wwzuk··on Donate mozilla
I was thinking the same, but tried not to post it earlier. Mozilla as a complete entity is too politically progressive for my tastes. It used to be something I looked up to because the technology was portable, configurable and just worked. I am not saying their competitors are any better (as I don't know).
wwzuk··on Software Developers’ Growing Elitism Problem
Whenever I see these sort of topics discussed, I rhetorically think: why is there no initiatives to make careers like HR, veterinary work and other areas more inclusive.

Both genders have strengths and weaknesses due to their biological and genetic differences, so it's only natural for one side to dominate certain fields.

Pushing equality to the point of progressive politics is just going to harm people. They won't be able to get into careers that they are naturally good at, for example, because it's no longer fashionable to hire them.

wwzuk··on Things the media does to manufacture outrage
Your best bet is just to get rid of all social media. I honestly think that the drama that social media encourages is unhealthy and subtly ruining people's lives.

It gives the impression that certain political groups are more influential than they are. It encourages outrage culture and the censorship that follows that movement. It's a lazy tool for certain types of journalists.

There's so many more constructive things to do than use social media. Delete your accounts, wait a month for any addictive urges to pass and enjoy life again.

wwzuk··on America Is Too Dumb for TV News
If you want to be a leader and you say something silly, then you say it with conviction and you go with it. That's what a lot of modern leaders don't seem to understand. They duck and retreat when offended groups or the media go after them - and it looks feeble.

The media and those groups don't really matter.
