That was very respectful.
wuster··on Mac OS X Lion accepts any password when authenticating via LDAP
Oh yikes. This deserves an update... yesterday. How can it be discovered and discussed only a month later?
wuster··on Renting vs Buying, Foreclosures and Job Growth across 50 US Cities
For 8-10% monthly fee. =)
wuster··on Stanford's Has Long Offered Free Entrepreneurship Lectures
YouTube Edu has a lot of stuff neatly categorized

wuster··on Defending Android
The Patent Bar is an extra hurdle to law grads, no? Not every underemployed law grad has a patent bar.
wuster··on Defending Android
the guy writes War and Peace every day about not much of any real content. I un-bookmarked and un-subcribed TC because of his "prolific" output

Tip: You can also subscribe to these on iTunes. They are perfect for work commutes.
wuster··on A Eulogy for Google+
Maybe no one added this Forbes writer to their Circles? =)
wuster··on Language Mystery: When Did Americans Stop Sounding This Way?
Wow, what a discovery (the video). I really enjoyed this video of San Francisco. While living in present day SF sometimes doesn't feel magical, this video makes me appreciate the city.
wuster··on Ask HN: Best iPad Apps
Carcassonne is game perfectly suited for tablet interaction: http://carcassonneapp.com/
wuster··on Leaky (YC S11) is Hipmunk for Car Insurance
This is just a sign of a helpful startup ecosystem. I don't see anything wrong with this arrangement.

Curious: are you guys using cloud infrastructure or using your own machines?
wuster··on Kicksend (YC S11) Launches To Make Sharing Big Files A Breeze
I have to concur here... ge.tt is pretty great already, and requires no installs.
wuster··on Poll: Greatest productivity app on Mac?
Gmail Multiple Inboxes is how I triage incoming mail.

I have 4 panes layered vertically:

Top: Inbox 2nd pane: personal action items (i.e. must do 'today') 3rd pane: reading queue, but nothing personally actionable 4th pane: ding ding ding. Recently completed items that I still want to keep an eye on.

Each of the panes is based off of a saved search query.

wuster··on Poll: Greatest productivity app on Mac?
The greatest tool... is not wasting my time with productivity-fu so I can get back to the actual task at hand =P

I kid. I kid.

wuster··on Google Responds To Microsoft’s "Gotcha": They’re Diverting Attention
I'm getting really sick of MG's sensationalist writing. He's the reason I've unsubscribed from TC.
wuster··on Poll: iOS users : one, two or? iDevices
I've always had an iOS device, but no room in my life for two of them:

2007-2008: iPhone 1st gen --> 2008-2010: iPhone 3G + Nexus One --> 2010: Nexus One + iPod touch (sold iPhone 3G) --> Late 2010 - May 2011: Nexus S + iPod touch (upgraded to Nexus S) --> May 2011 - present: Nexus S + iPad (sold iPod touch)

wuster··on Your Commute is Killing You? Move to New York
Me too! I look forward to 20-30 minute commutes (Bay Area) during which I can finish one half hour podcast. iTunes syncing, or Stitcher Radio app does wonders here.
wuster··on Your Commute is Killing You? Move to New York
OK, what about the mixed smell of sweat and urine in the subway stations in the still, humid air of July. Yikes.
wuster··on Ask HN: What happens to old developers?
There are plenty of mid-late 30s Software Engineers at the Big G.
wuster··on Poll: Is linkedin only for consultants and the unemployed?
LinkedIn is how Google recruiters kept track of me for many years before I sought them out for an interview in 2008. I work at Google today because I made a simple call back to the recruiter and got my phone interview scheduled the next day.
wuster··on Being Frugal Makes You A Loser
Agreed. There's usually an optimum value somewhere along the least -> most expensive spectrum.
wuster··on Being Frugal Makes You A Loser
Am I the only one who thinks his definition of 'frugal' is typically described by 'cheap'?

Agree that he's just a total unlikeable dick all throughout the post. Heh.

wuster··on Ask HN: Technical skills needed for any Google interview/job?
I'm a Googler, but I am offering my personal opinion - at a high level, you should be a passionate and knowledgeable user of technology. This means you're a power user of some tools, and knows how to leverage the right tech tools to get your job done. Also - always think about how to "put the user first".
wuster··on Max Levchin's Early PayPal Photos
Hey I work for these people! =P
wuster··on Ask HN: Is this a bad time to be majoring in Computer Science
I had similar worries when I started college in 2001, time of 9/11 and dot-com crash. But I did CS anyway, and it has been the best edu/career decision I've ever made.
wuster··on Ask HN: What is a good, simple project for teaching yourself Python?
I'm surprised no one has mentioned that you can just launch Terminal.app on OS X and enter 'python'. Or edit a file, save as <file>.py, run it through "python <file>.py" to see immediate results.

A little more complicated: download the Google App Engine SDK, start developing Python webapps on your workstation. You don't ever have to deploy it if you don't want to.

wuster··on Join Diaspora with these 25 simple steps (github)
TWENTY-FIVE steps is not "simple". =)
wuster··on Show HN: I made a better interface for Google Tasks and I can't go back
I know this is a more reputable community than the typical site, but I would be wary of clicking through these links in non-incognito/private mode... it's amazing how trusting people are.
wuster··on What would TechCrunch look like today with NO iPhone/Verizon stories?
I unsubscribed them from my Google Reader today. I have MG fatigue, he posts more often than necessary, and his article contents are repetitive, predictable, and rambly.
