I have come to realize this past year some of us in IT have moved into the domain of true Subject Matter Expert. I personally proved my worth to my clients and based on that they more than happy to keep me on 'retainer' adding nothing new, but ensuring that current systems to fark up... I work from home doing nothing but attending meetings. I am on the peak of the efficiency curve.
The lack of empathy in North American culture is part of the problem. You complain when they make it personal, pointing out individual problems is how you effect change.
Don't assume you talk for the majority without statistics to back it up. Make no mistake, this "Trade War" has the same implications as a real war. The only ones who will eventually suffer are poorest members of our society.
Is it a means to an end though? I believe diversity should NOT be measured in the amount of a minority succeeding, but when the measure of the poor is equal across all groups. When Poor black population = poor white population. Diversity problem solved. Before then, work to change systemic problems that cause more poor blacks than whites.
