Crypto doesn't replace elections or government?
I don't care if it's cryptocurrency that we end up using. As long as we can pay people in some kind of security that cannot be inflated, then wages cannot be silently garnished via inflation.
My original comment was just saying that I think Bitcoin is the best alternative we have, not that it would necessarily succeed.
This describes many companies, also.
I would rather suffer the environmental damage that Bitcoin incentivizes over having central banking control our currency (not saying it's that simple, but that is how I think about it in broad strokes). No government can print Bitcoin at will to fund military spending or generally increase social inequity, which I think printing new money usually ends up doing.
I think there are far worse things for the environment than Bitcoin. Have you seen our land and water usage?

The correct move is to wait until the org is so bogged down with tech debt that meaningful progress cannot be made, then switch companies/teams.
I think we put too much emphasis on general intelligence when it's not well defined and easily gamed. It's also a talking point for racists.

edit: Ok this obviously isn't black and white, but I'm saying this should be considered among other things.
How do you determine as an outsider the difference between a donation with an ask and a "no strings attached" donation?
Why didn't he donate anonymously?
Citation needed, at least to convince me. I think they could significantly bring down the cost at scale (production/maintenance wise at least).
