I have managed tech start-ups around the world and now work in digital transformation and tech consultancy. I started working in tech back in 1992 with DOS, Clipper, Visual Basic, and Delphi, then moved into the first .COM boom, followed by mobile technologies.
I skipped the crypto and web3 boom, but I believe AI is the new internet, and it feels like 1999 all over again!
After a year, I left the company after delivering a few things. Recently, I visited their website and found only a single home page with several PDF documents embedded within it and no sign of any client-facing solution. Assume they are back in Excel again.
There are plenty of CEOs / Founders out there that would love to find a great CTO / CIO so don't give up looking :)
My advice is to start looking for a new job or go freelance. I started doing fractional CTO work - which is interesting but challenging to find new clients.
You give this out to the world for feedback and people moan its not working.
I am old geek and back in the day you knew an Alpha was just for the playground to kick around - most likely will crash, worse case will destroy you PC but you have a play / provide some feedback and wait for the next release.
A lot of other projects do everything in the dark and do a big ta da at the end - and missed the opportunity for the community of "alpha" or "beta" testers to provide some feedback along the way.
Keep going - its added to my list to take look once in beta as I prefer to play in that playground rather than the alpha one these days.
I like the idea!
NATs has reported that the system is now back up and running. It is possible that the secondary system took over with data syncing having to take place before the switchover?
My original post was about my interest in the technical aspects of redundancy and failover mechanisms in something as mission-critical as air traffic control.
I come from a background in broadcasting, where failover is critical, and redundancy is built into any broadcast chain. e have multiple backups and jumping-off points to deal with any issues that arise. It's pretty rare we could ever go to “black”.
Docudeal looks really cool and simple! and compared to the crazy costs of HelloSign, Docusign etc.
One thing I would say is provide a RestAPI so easy to integrate into our own applications so we can have the GUI on our side.
- The web editor doesn't seem to display pages 2, 3, etc.
- The biggest concern I have is how the platform handles the end of a page and page breaks. Specifically, the text seems to be too close to the bottom of the page, with no footer padding. If I were to add a new role to the CV and include the company name, I'd expect the platform to be smart enough to recognise that there isn't enough room for the entire entry and to move the name and the first couple of associated bullets to the next page instead of awkwardly splitting them across two pages.
- I also noticed that my Word CV fits on 2.7 pages, while the document on your editor spans 3.5 pages, with identical font sizes and types. Is there any way to adjust the text width which is what i think the issue is.
Thanks
So i had an account which looks like they renewed my account in November 2021 without asking me.
Logging into my account there is NO refernce to the start and end date of the contract i agreed to, i never agreed to renew. I tried to cancel and says £178 to cancel.
Adobe you are now the worse company for this crap.
The link below to Cisco might be an option - looking I guess for enterprise style solutions.

Part of this is that while under investigation they are not allowed to talk to you, and have no motivation to act quickly. I have read in a lot of cases, once they start the process it is very unlikely it will end well. You will, of course, get your money back (assuming you can prove everything they want).
They will close your account and the damage is done regardless if you are guilty of something or not. Quicker for them to close an account, then carrying on investigating a backlog of cases.
Of course, at some point, they will lose customers from a bad reputation but can take years before this becomes a mainstream problem.
I think the odds are small of this happening to you by accident, but it is happening.
This problem has not happened to me but did to a friend and I had to loan him money to pay his rent, bills etc. Took 3 months to resolve. Was with Halifax bank.
Personally, the main problem I have experienced is around credit cards and reducing limits when you pay off lumps sums. Worse still - I had a credit card closed and they took the money directly from my savings account as part of their T&C ability to garnish money from any other source linked to the bank. There was nothing I could do about it.
Lesson learned NEVER have a loan/credit card in the UK with the same bank as the one you have savings or your salary goes into Also, NEVER have your personal accounts and business accounts with the same bank!
The other comments on here about having multiple accounts for businesses can be a little tricky as some banks will not open a second business account if you already have done opened with someone else. e.g I had Lloyds business bank, tried Metro bank but they refused to open until I could prove Lloyds was closed.
I was locked out of internet banking for my business account with Lloyds for over 3 months due to a technical fault in the way it was setup. Was paid compensation in the end, but already had moved to another bank. They could not have cared less.
Some people will say no smoke without fire, but if you read on moneysavingexpert about people being locked out of their personal accounts for the same reason. Any transfer that is slightly different from your day to day will be flagged and risk having your account locked for weeks / months on end.
It happens more than we realise. A bit like winning the lottery, it could be you :(
The further we go down the road of electronic payments, and a cashless society it could get really messy.
The only way to solve in the short term is to spread the risk across many banks, and never keep your money in one place. Keep hold of some cash!
