For some anything after SMS is not dumb enough (ok, this still exists), others would be ok with just a browser, and you said Maps and WA/etc/.
I am not even sure I could give you a good enough definition, I'm kinda happy enough with Android and just ignore any dumb/minimal angle, because if I only take a phone with me I generally want to potentially use it as a computer replacement. There are really only 2 people I call regularly.
For Linux I've been kinda indifferent for 15 years. Maybe it's me.
But Java 8 was stable (as in APIs, not judging its quality here) and since then it's gotten good again.
This post does not even mention the S3 API as a replacement for a filesystem.
I only used it for half a year in 2003, didn't have anything to do with administration.
I could receive and send emails, and I think newsgroups (or was that not directly included?), I had not self-hosted email at that point, but of course used it for a couple years. It was better than Outlook at a job I had before that, otherwise I'm really indifferent.
I will never buy a motorola phone again and I'll gladly tell everyone to avoid them.
Both things can be true - I can be indifferent or appreciative of stuff being closed on Sundays and I can also be annoyed that 90% of the people have their only free day on the same day and thus bigger shopping needs to happen there instead of being spread over two days, unless you take days off.
So I think it sounds more than actual people who would be happy to be called software developers.
I checked the area around Munich, Germany (where I live).
- one is an actual lake (correct shape) that went down to 0 from a bogus 1
- three are actual forests/parks which may have had some sorts, but 11/16/48 to 0 is a rounding error, but there is no filter for absolute, it technically is -100%...
- bit further out is another lake with 14 to 0

But seriously, have your vinyl and be happy, I am buying CDs for home use (even in a car it got annoying fast).
But why would I ever go back to something huge, clunky, fragile like MCs (or MDs to a degree)? I'm not saying stop using a dedicated music player (although I've been team mobile phone for music (with mp3s) forever). But the only reason I see for exchangable media would be trading playlists with friends (I hardly did that with MCs or CDs, but ok) - but why not cheap small SD cards. Why do people want their Walkman back? I just don't get it.
I'm kinda over downloading gigabytes of files and then deleting them after watching. And I'm not doing this regularly so I've not investigated. All I'm saying is that it solved a problem nicely.
I still like them but it's usually not the networking knowledge that trips people up.
