weezin··on Top US corporations raising prices on Americans even as profits surge
No, that its not an issue of shear dollars its an issue of prices being targeted toward the people that make the least.
weezin··on Top US corporations raising prices on Americans even as profits surge
Remember when there was debate over $15 dollar minimum wage and people arguing against it said that would just increase inflation? Well entry level low skill jobs pay over $15 dollars an hour and now we have inflation.
weezin··on Obama argues unregulated social media is a threat to democracy
I read this as "people are too dumb to know whats right and wrong". If you don't agree with something that is said, use your speech to argue against it, sorry you won't be able to shutdown others you disagree with.
weezin··on Obama argues unregulated social media is a threat to democracy
IANAL (also judging by what you said you aren't either) But that doesn't look to mean what you say it means [0].

weezin··on Ask HN: What happened to Twitter poison pill?
If I had to guess it was probably 8 shares total for the price of 4.
weezin··on Ask HN: What happened to Twitter poison pill?
The poison pill was likely a defensive manuever to allow them time to evaluate their options.
weezin··on Elon Musk and Twitter Reach Deal for Sale
Ok well I'm going to remain on topic to your original (now obviously rhetorical) question. The article was not propaganda. It was disproving Biden's previous statement that he “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings”.

I would invite you to read the article again if you think its propaganda:

weezin··on Elon Musk and Twitter Reach Deal for Sale
Do you honestly think it was ok to stop the spread of the hunter biden story and suspend people for spreading it?
weezin··on Elon Musk and Twitter Reach Deal for Sale
Why does everyone use child porn as an argument against freedom of speech? Child porn is legally required to be taken down per section 230.
weezin··on U.S. forgives 40k student loans
I wonder what the pause in student loans has done to contribute toward inflation? I would be paying 200 dollars a month right now, but no way I'm paying 0% interest loans that may get partially forgiven one day.
weezin··on Wealthiest Americans pay just 3.4% of income in taxes, investigation reveals
Can someone explain the charitable donations deduction thing? I get the art appraisal example of getting it appraised more than its worth and getting a deduction for it. But assuming a person isn't doing that, how are charitable deductions even worth noting? Should you have to pay taxes for donating to charity? Am I missing some way of making money off donating?
weezin··on Elon Musk makes $43B unsolicited bid to take Twitter private
Because there is going to be panic selling since everyone knows it will go down if they say no.
weezin··on Consumer prices rose 8.5% in March – highest since 1981
The month over month was 1.2% though? And .3% month over month is 4% annualized because of compounding. and 1.2% is 15% annualized inflation so not slowing at all.

edit: my bad 3.66% my calculator rounded to 4.

weezin··on Trapped in lockdown, Shanghai residents turn to WeChat groups for food
Do people feel that the lockdown is justified? I saw the start of a paywalled WSJ article saying that there are 130k reported cases and no deaths? I don't believe them on the deaths part but if thats the information from the government how do people justify a lockdown?
weezin··on What software engineers can learn from the rapid collapse of Fast
The problem was that the engineers were building a scalable infrastructure rather than a scalable business.

from the article: "The average volume of Fast customers was low because most customers were from small businesses. And yet, every small business needed custom engineering work to be done, making integration slow. Several engineers mentioned how they did not understand how spending lots of engineering effort for each small client resulting in little revenue would result in building a company that could be worth $12B one day."

weezin··on Amazon worker chat app to ban words such as “union”, “pay raise”, “slave labor”
Well they did have a shelter area. My point was the people that followed the tragedy with horrible tornado advice in order to score political points.
weezin··on Amazon worker chat app to ban words such as “union”, “pay raise”, “slave labor”
The amount of people that don't know what you are suppose to do during a tornado is mind boggling...
weezin··on Ask HN: Tech Salaries and Wealth Inequality
The percentage of people making that amount of money is still pretty low. I'm more worried about what happens when those people making 300-400k a year automate those jobs. As far as sustainability, cost of living will be consistent with the middle class.
weezin··on American poverty is too high for all kinds of people
I don't really get your point, I wouldn't call it a dismissal. Not all areas of white poverty were once "vibrant".
weezin··on American poverty is too high for all kinds of people
The interesting thing is that for them that makes sense, the poor people are not white on the coast, but for the "fly over states" there is a ton of poor white people with drug addictions and poor education.
weezin··on Russia threatens to abandon American astronaut in space aboard ISS
This would have been a dire threat a couple years ago, but thanks to Spacex we no longer solely rely on Russia for space missions.
weezin··on Spotify is removing Neil Young’s music after falling out over Joe Rogan
It is kind of refreshing seeing someone actually sacrifice something for what they believe in. Whether you agree or not.
weezin··on Amazon is bypassing supply chain chaos with chartered ships and long-haul planes
Governments have more money than god and are horrible at efficiency.
weezin··on Missouri found mask mandates work, but didn’t make findings public
Yes, this headline is really misleading. You could argue the gap widened a bit after the mandate, but that is probably more a factor of behavior/vaccination rate compounding than masking. This is anything but conclusive about mask.
weezin··on Update on Omicron
> I mean, there are Zero Covid strategies that work, see China or New Zealand.

Are we really trusting China's data? They still have less than 100k cases reported. That makes zero sense from what we've seen from other countries. How would they have tracked down every case after it ran rampant for 3 months in a major city?

weezin··on Lambda School leaked documents show poor performance over the last two years
Its funny because Lambda School sent me (alumni) a test recently which was basically a wonderlic test.
weezin··on Lambda School leaked documents show poor performance over the last two years
Lambda School was great for me. You get out of it what you put into it. Why are there never stories like these about specific university programs with higher opportunity cost and financial cost?
weezin··on What do people want in a co-founder?
Someone good at things I suck at.
weezin··on U.S. Government already projects $1T deficit every year for the next 10 years [pdf]
Ponzi Scheme!
weezin··on Netflix Co-CEO Says He ‘Screwed Up’ When Defending Dave Chappelle Special
You are looking at it, or at least what could have been if he didn't back down. Not backing down creates a forcing function to where they leave and people like them won't come.
