I used to think the same way as you. Then I got RSI and the only thing I can type on now without excruciating pain is my $250+ ergonomic keyboard. The other day I typed a short password on my Corsair gaming keyboard (standard layout, full size) and I literally sprained my left wrist immediately.

Honestly, after how much money I’ve spent trying to deal with my RSI (doctors, exams, physical therapy, home workout items and programs) the 250 is nothing for something that isn’t exacerbating my injury and in fact reducing inflammation enough that things are finally healing.

I just got a $1900 bill from my last appointment with my Hand Doctor at UCSF.

So the ~200 I spent on my custom Dactyl that has actually taken my pain from a level ~4 to near 0 is really a drop in the bucket for my health.

(+1 for the DM! I have the normal Dactyl because a thumb injury makes the cluster unusable for me, but I have plenty of friends who love the DM.)

No worries! We actually didn't highlight it in the post :P I just find it such a cool fun fact that I wish we talked about it more.

Hi! Not Fanghao but another Discord iOS engineer. We wrote our own library for OTA updates but React Native Code Push (https://github.com/Microsoft/react-native-code-push) is a pretty reasonable out of the box solution. Because our OTA solution is designed for hotfixing issues rather than feature releases we push to everyone, and we also have a flag that forces our users to relaunch the app if the bug is app breaking.
