I'm not saying Groupon is doing well, but to suggest that they should have just sold to Google here is wrong; they still got their payout (the IPO) and they still have their company to boot.

I've also been told that it's tricky to remove a group, which means if you want to disband it, you have to manually remove all your members one by one unless you want to potentially subject them to a spammy takeover like has happened here. Removing members from your groups is also a pretty painfully slow process.
There's a free version on their website (scroll down a bit) if you'd like to try it. It lacks the toggle hotkeys, but it'll let you know if it suits you before buying.
I have an interest in playing around with WinPho/Metro apps, and if dropping $8 now means I can push anything I create to the store, then this is pretty appealing.
Also, if I'm on the signup page and click the Drone.io logo, it just adds a # to the URL and doesn't go back to the home page.
I was under the impression that Apple was the one that wrote that app, and they just sourced all the map data from Google.
Just because a product "works" after being killed doesn't mean it'll do what you want/need it to. The iPad is a safe play, it'll have new apps for the foreseeable future. The Surface (particularly the RT model) is very much up in the air.
What wasn't clear to me was whether or not it was going to be enforced on older versions of Android. I imagine it will be though.
I'm going to guess no.
Since you're in private beta, why not add a mailing list signup? That way, those that don't get an invite code will still get reminders of this tool and a notification when they can finally get in.
That said, cool product, best of luck, and I hope you guys get funding!
That said, this service looks very slick and kmfrk makes a great point about using it to liberate your photos and such and make them available to people that don't have accounts. For example, links to facebook photos are useless for me since I don't have an account there, but if the people uploading their photos there could also have them mirrored to SocialFolders or even another network where I either have an account or don't need an account to view them, that would be sweet. If they could have that happen without doing anything extra on their own (after installing the software, of course), that would be pretty amazing!
Also, the fact that you can see your user passwords in the panel has always irked me, and that has gone unchanged even after past breaches. I have been quite happy with their service, but maybe this my queue to leave... :(
EDIT: To their credit, I see this when logging in to the panel: "Due to some unauthorized activity we detected within one of our databases, we have forced a reset of all FTP/SFTP and shell passwords as a precaution."
An option to have this activate only on the 18th would be great. I'd kinda like to include the code now but have it do nothing until the 18th. Also, is the "sopablackout_id = 'element-id'" option working? Didn't seem to do anything different for me.
It's worth checking Craigslist in your area too, there's usually people selling these desks pretty cheap. At least that's been my experience; got mine used for $70.
EDIT: The Jerker (http://i.imgur.com/TyieC.jpg) is what I actually have (thanks chaostheory).
For me, it's always been the quality of the content. SO many movies are such garbage, and, at least to me, that was more true in 2011 than in recent years. Look at all the reboots that came out this year and think how many of them were worth seeing at a premium in theaters...
Ebert came close to hitting it with that point, especially at the end, but missed it a little. I don't think people prefer indie, foreign and documentaries because of what they are, nor because of the theaters they are shown in. Those movies have better turnout because they are better than most of the big Hollywood titles.
