vmt-man··on Google Has Removed MV2 Extensions from the Chrome Web Store, Including UBO
I believe era of custom software is coming. AI is getting much powerful from month to month and that day will come when you can implement your own browser someday and no one like Google can stop you from it ;)
vmt-man··on DeepSeek V4 Flash 0731 Intelligence, Performance and Price Analysis
> Is the difference between this and a frontier model that the scripture is guaranteed to be real?

flash is suitable only for a toy apps, not for production environments :)

are you working in earplugs? :)) even with 128 gigs of ram it must be super noisy.
vmt-man··on Fable extended until 19 July
So, do you want me to trust technology you will shut down for some reason in random time? No, thanks :)
vmt-man··on Fable Converted Pylint to Rust
ruff scratches the surface. pylint has more deep checks.
vmt-man··on Ask HN: What are you working on? (February 2026)
thank you for Kvile, postman is slow and super bloated :0

do you have plans to add it to brew? :3 it's more convenient way for updates

vmt-man··on Ask HN: How do you force yourself to take breaks while coding?
I use classic pomodoro technique :) It helps even for my back.
vmt-man··on Kagi releases alpha version of Orion for Linux
I tried the macos and ios versions of Orion yesterda and it was a great experience.

I've used Brave from the beginning but it has become bloated with web3-related stuff and has outdated UX (imo) on mobile.

Orion desktop is inspired by Safari, Arc in a best way. Ad-blocking and chrome/firefox extensions from the beginning, convenient vertical tabs, mature level of ui customization.

Glad it see on Linux too.

vmt-man··on Cursor CLI
It's not ready yet :)

p.s: looking forward for crush :3

vmt-man··on Cursor CLI
For example: i'm using Claude Code mostly + Gemini CLI. Gemini CLI is not such powerful as CC, also it won't work with some mcp's. So i have different *.md files.
vmt-man··on Ask HN: Tips for reducing LLM token usage?
> GLM-4.5 Air, Qwen3 30b A3B, and Llama Scout

Are they good enough compared to Sonnet 4?

I’ve also used Gemini 2.5 Pro and Flash, and they’re worse. But they’re much bigger, not just 30B.

vmt-man··on Ask HN: Tips for reducing LLM token usage?
What hardware do you suggest? :)
vmt-man··on Rethinking CLI interfaces for AI
Thanks for a great article. Problems you described are very common.
vmt-man··on Ask HN: What are you working on (August 2024)?
Tags are useless, encoded titles are better.

I'm using Zettelkasten with Obsidian and completely satisfied.

vmt-man··on Why Kubernetes Was a Mistake for My SaaS Business
Clickbait detected

> I spent 10 days to configuration

Is it K8s some toy for you? May be you have such complains about Oracle RAC too or other complex systems?

vmt-man··on Ask HN: What have you built with LLMs?
Nice idea, but README is required. Also it can be generated by GPT :)
vmt-man··on Pixel 8 Pro
It's look really creepy :D
vmt-man··on Pixel 8 Pro
Totally agree with you. I think Google targets to housewifes (mediocre photography taste): - Bright photos - Smiling faces - Vivid unnatural colors

I hate that they removed ability to disable thair **ing HDR.

p.s: Pixel 6 owner

vmt-man··on Pixel 8 Pro
Reminds me Black Mirror vibes :)
vmt-man··on Pixel 8 Pro
GCam HDR is a horrible thing and you can't disable it anymore :(

AI editor with "everyone smilling" trend reminded me Black Mirror :)

vmt-man··on Pixel 8 Pro
1) Google is more going forward towards mediocre photography. You can't turn off HDR (HDR in 99% cases is bad), now they introduced AI-tool to replaces unsmiling \ awkward faces.

2) Pixels going toward cloud based smartphones (Video Boost feature) - is really bad, no future proof. My fathers 2 XL works fine without updates, but with cloud based features Pixels gonna come crippled

vmt-man··on Open Letter to Visa and Mastercard from IT Specialists Fleeing Russia
We are locked in a financial trap or cage, isolated from the rest of the world. IT sector has the most open-minded and kind people.

Fully support!

vmt-man··on Ask HN: Solo-preneurs, how do you DevOps to save time?
I prefer Gitlab CI for solo projects, it's super convenient. Just create .gitlab-ci.yml file, attach runners on my pc, laptops and go.

Deploy with scp/sftp.

Also it's very useful to have DEV.md file for each repo. It helps to remember how to build and deploy your project. Documentation for future me :)
