vinni2··on Claude Says
Wasn’t it also like google says?
vinni2··on Plunging test scores are a slow-moving catastrophe
I don’t know in WALL.E they are not so dumb as they are lazy l, infact they are smart enough to do space travel at scale.
vinni2··on macOS 27: Workaround to avoid downloading AI models and save storage
Luckily I live in a country with universal healthcare and our pharmacies don’t transmit prescription medication info to credit cards. They just show some prescription medication was purchased
vinni2··on macOS 27: Workaround to avoid downloading AI models and save storage
I am sorry no amount of assurances from any company is going to make me reveal my medical information to products from any tech company.
vinni2··on I hate you Microsoft
Well sure you can use Thunderbird but our IT department makes it harder. You need to authenticate more often if you use anything other than outlook and Thunderbird unfortunately doesn’t support office 365 calendar. Now the exchange server dropped support EWS forcing everyone to use their Graph API which is yet to be supported by Apple mail.
vinni2··on macOS 27: Workaround to avoid downloading AI models and save storage
Not sure if I want Siri to know my prescription medication.
vinni2··on I Hate You Microsoft
> You have to pay me to use Microsoft products and services.

I had this same attitude and boy did they pay me (or my startup) to use azure, they gave us shit load of free credits I couldn’t resist.

But at the same time my university is forcing us to use Exchange for email. I have no way around that and Office 365 and Teams are default softwares. I hate it but I can’t do anything about it.

vinni2··on Apple's Siri AI Can Be Swapped Out for Claude, ChatGPT, Code Shows
Hmmm then why is it not available in EU?
vinni2··on Making Teenagers Read Newspapers. A Nationwide Experiment in French High Schools
I remember in my school days each day one student was responsible for summarising headlines from the newspapers in the school assembly to encourage us to read newspapers.
vinni2··on Muse – Meta’s personal AI agent
I don’t understand why Apple can’t pull something off like this.
vinni2··on Should you avoid blue light before bed?

vinni2··on Dyson CameraJet electric toothbrush
The water jet ruined my teeth. I would not advise anyone to use them.

Edit: here are some anecdotes https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/cdrh/cfdocs/cfmaude/d...

Edit 2: It might be that I didn’t maintain it properly and the water reservoir was building up bio film over period of time and actively distributing bacterial to my gums.

vinni2··on Being nude in public can make us feel better about our bodies
No one is doing this in public places where children are. These are presumably designated nude beaches and nudist colonies. So as long as you don’t bring your children there intentionally they should be safe.
vinni2··on US announces new sanctions on top ICC figures
Who wouldn’t want to do this. Unfortunately the EU is dependent on US economy and defence. The EU doesn’t dare. For the same reasons they also swallow shaking hands with rogue states like China and Saudi Arabia.
vinni2··on Norway should buy OpenAI
Why on earth would Norway do a charity to the world? The oil fund while it has some moral guidelines, profit making is still the primary goal. There is no guarantee OpenAI will be profitable ever.
vinni2··on I told them forced consent was unlawful. 5 years later it cost Elkjop €1.8M
I am glad this was resolved. It’s annoying when companies take things for granted. It’s not just Elkjøp doing it. There are other e commerce companies and some online pharmacies doing it too.

vinni2··on Is Meta destroying its engineering organization?
https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/ai/data-poisoning/ Data poisoning.
vinni2··on Apple is about to make Hide My Email useless
Unfortunately sometimes we are at some specific provider’s mercy for whatever reason like lack of appropriate alternatives.
vinni2··on Is Meta destroying its engineering organization?
Unless they collude and hatch a plan to sabotage the LLM training.
vinni2··on Why isn't the U.S. better at soccer?
I can’t speak for other countries but in India cricket eclipses all other sports and drains talent. But soccer is gaining popularity recently but still long way to go.
vinni2··on Meta Keeps Delaying the Release of Its New AI Model to Developers
Why don’t you argue with science and engineering then?
vinni2··on Meta Keeps Delaying the Release of Its New AI Model to Developers
> every dollar you're spending on trying to train larger models is a losing prop

You probably don’t know how smaller models are trained then. Most of them are knowledge distilled or trained using data generated from larger models. If larger models are stopped there is no magical way smaller models will keep getting better.

vinni2··on OpenRouter raises $113M Series B
They want to have enough cash to pay the LLM bills.
vinni2··on OpenRouter raises $113M Series B
Users can easily switch if they find better alternatives.
vinni2··on Search engines alternatives now that Google isn't Google anymore
I use a self-hosted Searxng to make it work with my local LLM RAG setup. It works amazingly. Thank you for creating this. I will check out the hister as well.
vinni2··on Ferrari shares fall after launch of first EV as Jony Ive design proves divisive
Reminds me of Homer Simpson designing a car for his half brother and making him bankrupt.
vinni2··on UK radio station apologises for accidentally announcing king's death
> The erroneous announcement was made on Tuesday afternoon due to a computer error at Radio Caroline’s main studio in Essex.

Wonder what error caused it. Must be a human error blamed on a computer error?

vinni2··on Show HN: TikTok but for scientific papers
This is exactly the problem with science reporting. All things can go wrong like click bait, out of context conclusions etc will go wrong.
