And as for the "Blumph!" comment, we still have yet to see Syria driven to the state of Libya so that's at least quite a few kids saved from getting shot right there.
Think of it like the SOPA/PIPA/whatever fight: You manage to barely resist some bill from being enacted into law but then just a few months/years later another version of the same law is proposed.

WSL development for bringing in programmers as new users is nice and a feature that stays out of the way, but Microsoft wants to bring in tablet/phone users.
Universal apps so far seem kind of stupid, as an example Paint 3D is a single window only app. Pretty bonkers but I guess the API doesn't support multiple instances.

Heh, I don't know about other STEM fields but I remember a lady attending a computer science freshman social event once. There were very few women there as the majority of women in CS are in HTI. After a while she said to my friend, "Why is everyone such a nerd."
She left the field, men were at fault.
