I'm actually totally for killing ISIS members in any way possible. I just think we oughta own up to what we're doing. We're killing people because they are evil. They are evil because of how we have actively handled governments et al in that area.
Ruoho = grass
You were in Ruoholahti, although I suppose there's some irony in that typo.
Well, you can certainly ignore all that and just use the language. Nothing forces you to do these things, they're just forcing themselves to do these things.
It's not exactly in the same space as Nix, but not very far from it, either. In Habitat, you use a language that felt to me quite similar to Arch Linux's PKGBUILDs, but extended with container-specific things like service ports etc. Habitat outputs containers that can be started in various orchestration technologies, like Kubernetes or Mesos/Marathon.
any : (a -> Bool) -> Lazy List a -> Bool
... which would make it as performant and clearer than Haskell's any, since the laziness is explicit.
Someone with actual Idris experience might tell if it actually would work like this :) I guess we'd have to make sure that the used or function is also lazy.
Indeed. Some people actually use Haskell, though. They even claim it's fun and productive, but having done so myself, I'm forced to be undecided on whether they're just suffering from Stockholm Syndrome.
What would we exactly lose?
>As far as I can see, Idris is too much like Haskell to take its place. Porting thousands of libraries to a new language is a huge effort, so a huge advantage is required, which I don't see Idris offering.
That is true, though. Perhaps Rust is the safer bet, even if it lacks many nice things. The sum is probably quite a lot better still.
The process took about a year. My own estimate is that we lost about 2-3 months to tool-related problems, without any benefit whatsoever. I have never in my 20 year career understood the point of word-processing tools, and never will.
And those tools make money. That is wrong.
That article about GM says nothing about how the US public thinks about whistleblowing, does it? Could be wrong but I think they generally respect it.
Is this really the Korean mentality? It makes me wary of buying anything from that country if it is, let alone something expensive and potentially dangerous like a car.
Ok, solution time. Let's immediately ban everyone who denies that climate change is human made from all positions of power. That implies stripping them of both titles and wealth.
MySQL is MySQL or MariaDB.
HEADLINE: Officially supported i3 or equivalent
DESCRIPTION: i3 offers a vastly superior power-user usage experience, pretty much compared to anything else in the market. If Ubuntu would offer a properly configured/themed/integrated i3 desktop, I'd be happy to use it, because I've done enough pointless fine tuning for one lifetime. I'd be fine with some other tiling window manager too, as long as if it was at least as good as i3. I have doubts that this could be done properly with Unity, but I won't mind being surprised.
ROLE: Desktop Linux user since '96.
Anyone could have called themselves a doctor-analogue 100 years after the invention of "medicine", too.
Programmers should have a similar guild/organization that medical doctors do, and people who abuse the ethics should be barred from practicing.
I don't see any way out of this loop except for penalizing bad business behavior (on an individual level) heavily while protecting engineers who fight them.
I think I'll start doing exactly that.
