I would guess higher.

Only a subset of people were, and still are were involved in Crypto, whereas LLM is of use to pretty much everyone.

As a seismic change, of course it's going to be everywhere till the hype cycle flattens.

v5v3··on Ask HN: If AGI were invented tomorrow which countries would fare better?
It's not democracy.

It's two party politics.

v5v3··on Ask HN: If AGI were invented tomorrow which countries would fare better?
If they got AGI, then the wouldn't the AGI pop out all the CAD plans for design of machines to make them, machines/robots to assemble them and so on?
v5v3··on MI5’s falsehoods in the case of neo-Nazi spy who abused women
Yes.

These are the ancestors of the people who flooded China with Opium, and killed more people in India then Hitler did in his time.

Did you not see the lengths they went to over complying over the Chagos Islands? To be 'seen' as a lawful country.

v5v3··on Ask HN: If AGI were invented tomorrow which countries would fare better?
>I have a hunch that the people at the top of governments tend to be among the more highly intelligent.

People at the top of Western countries are not always the most highly intelligent.

'Can be controlled' is the lead criteria by those who put them there.

v5v3··on Ask HN: If AGI were invented tomorrow which countries would fare better?
USA, by virtue of having the leading GPU company and military.

As AGI will need a lot of GPU, which Nvidia lead in.

And a country with experience of ensuring they get the raw materials they need, even if they have to do a regime change by force.

v5v3··on How to not pay your taxes legally, apparently
So they can return maximum dividends to shareholders. Who also won’t pay tax.
v5v3··on MI5’s falsehoods in the case of neo-Nazi spy who abused women
My friend that is how they work.

The BBC is not only a domestic tool, but a global tool for controlling the image of the British state and perceived lack of corruption.

When people start to question their behaviour, up pops this kinda counter. The judges are part of the same system.

v5v3··on How to not pay your taxes legally, apparently
Dave Chapelle sums it up:

(The donors to the politicians use these loopholes, so why would a politician end it...)

v5v3··on How to not pay your taxes legally, apparently
Or get some one else to move...

The UK billionaire Phil Green lived in UK, his wife moved to Monaco and everything was in her name. So he could run the companies in person and she would recieve the hundreds of millions in dividends.

v5v3··on How to Incapacitate Google Tag Manager and Why You Should (2022)
As said, use a password manager.

Also regularly export your passwords from your password manager, either to another password manager or encrypt and store. So if the password manager has issues it won't leave you stuck.

v5v3··on Version Control for AI Coding
Not sure calling the product Branching is a good idea. May cause confusion.
v5v3··on Larry (cat)
A bunch of sociopaths routinely engaged in regime change and what not around the world looked at the polls one day and said sh*t.

And then one said, let's get a cat so the old dears think we are more human and vote for us.

It's not really beautiful culture. Just a cat used as a prop.

I use:

VPN so constantly changing ip.

Tor browser for everyday browsing (has no script preinstalled). So onion provides double Vpn. Regularly closed down so history cleared.

Safari in private mode and lockdown mode for when tor won't work (tor ip blocked/hd video that is too slow to stream on tor). Safari Isolation in private mode is excellent, you can use two tabs with, say emails, and neither will know other is logged in.

Safari non private for sites I want available and in sync across devices.

Firefox in permanent private mode with ublock origin for when safari lockdown mode causes issues. (Bizarely Firefox containers doesn't work in private so no isolation across tabs).

Chromium for logged into Google stuff.

Chrome for web development.

Plus opt out for everything possible inc targeted ads.

I rarely see ads of anything I would want to buy, and VPN blocks most of it at its DNS.

Beyond that, anything else would be too much effort for me.

The advertising companies I'm sure know I am not susceptible to impulse buy on ads, I research and seek vfm so not really their target.

The UK is extremely good at selling it's image around the world.

When the truth is anything but.

v5v3··on Ask HN: How did Soham Parekh get so many jobs?
He agreed to a YouTube interview with an established channel.

As per his cold emails and interview patter, it is my opinion that he will have considered defence and mitigations arguments to present in the interview.

v5v3··on Ask HN: How did Soham Parekh get so many jobs?
Yes. People like that are adept at making you feel for them.
v5v3··on Ask HN: How did Soham Parekh get so many jobs?
>This guy should be absolutely ostracized.

But it's funny. And people who make you laugh, even if naughty, get a pass.

v5v3··on Show HN: CSS generator for a high-def glass effect
I would suggest adding a Tailwind config too, seeing as it's so prevalent.

v5v3··on Ask HN: How to create a more human-centric web?
>Have you seen Reddit lately?

I haven't.

Link to examples?

v5v3··on Launch HN: K-Scale Labs (YC W24) – Open-Source Humanoid Robots
>However, a lot of the people who want to buy a humanoid robot today do so because they want a completely autonomous robot to do all their chores,

Not sure your research has been through.

The ones that get the most attention from what I've seen are the ones that look female. And the first comment is always about how easy to clean...

All those lonely men spending thousands on the billion dollar revenue generating onlyfans and webcam sites seem to be the immediate consumer market.

v5v3··on Ask HN: How do I prevent execs from obsessing over copy-protection?
>Ive just begun a short term dev contract

Who hired you? Have you spoken to that person?

>I was talking to one of our devs recently

He or she isn't your dev, they are your clients. You are a temp.

v5v3··on Ask HN: Stock Android tablet free of bloatware?
Perhaps take a look on the XDA forums for community supported distros on the major brands.

Also pay attention to amount of Ram it comes with, as higher will last longer without getting laggy.

v5v3··on Ask HN: How do I open up my side project to the world?
Which Tech stack?
v5v3··on Spending Too Much Money on a Coding Agent
Yes. A company needs measurable ROI and isn't going to spend $200 a month per seat on Claude.

It will instead sign a deal with Microsoft for ai that is 'good enough' and limit expensive ai to some. Or being in the big consultancys as usual to do the projects.

v5v3··on Spending Too Much Money on a Coding Agent
Most programmers are not asking ai to re-write the whole app or convert C to Rust.

You wouldn't gain anything from asking the most expensive model to adjust some css.
