When I saw the release notes, I checked the calendar to see if it's April 1st... The reasoning is really cool though.

I hope what I write will not scare you away from trying these, I just want to add to make sure to know about all potential side effects. My daughter tried Atomoxetine and reacted very badly to it. I recognized it as a potential side effect from the documentation that came with the meds. The doctors did not even know it could happen. Everyone is different though! She uses Elvanse now (I don’t know how that’s called outside Europe) and it works for her.

Again, chances are it will work for you without side effects so work with your doctor. Just be well informed.

> If AI agents can train on outputs alone, any organization that can define quality and provide enough examples might achieve similar results

user_of_the_wek··on Rost – Rust Programming in German
I would assume that in rust, as in other languages, you can't use keywords as e.g. variable names because it would lead to mixups. So you can't translate programs back and forth without making sure you don't use keyword of _any_ possible language as variable names.

I think the emperor's new clothes is not a fitting comparison at all. Everyone could see the emperor was naked, they just thought they were the only ones. As soon as there was a second voice confirming what they saw, the illusion crumbled. But trump voters are so far off the deep end, the smoke screens so elaborate, that they _actually_ see the fine garments.

user_of_the_wek··on Java in the Small
You don't need the args!

  void main() {
      println("Hello world");
  }
should work just as well.
user_of_the_wek··on Java in the Small
Just to be clear, the implicit class thing is still a preview feature as of Java 24, which should come out next March. It might be finalized for Java 25, in the coming September. But no guarantees. Until then you'd need to explicitly enable it with a cli parameter.
user_of_the_wek··on Java in the Small
These features are explicitly to make teaching Java as a first language easier. From https://openjdk.org/jeps/463

Goals:

Offer a smooth on-ramp to Java programming so that instructors can introduce concepts in a gradual manner.

Help students to write basic programs in a concise manner and grow their code gracefully as their skills grow.

Reduce the ceremony of writing simple programs such as scripts and command-line utilities.

Do not introduce a separate beginners' dialect of the Java language.

Do not introduce a separate beginners' toolchain; student programs should be compiled and run with the same tools that compile and run any Java program.

user_of_the_wek··on Cargo Airships Are Happening
I searched around a bit and it seems they have been gone from the Loch since 2011: https://inflatableboatjourneys.blogspot.com/2011/07/kyles-of...

Or maybe they are back? There aren't a lot of sources I could find.

I have a Series 5 with the Saphire glass but my clumsy ass dropped it in the kitchen onto a stone floor. The edge of the glass shattered and while I still use it to this day, it's an ugly reminder of my clumsiness. The repair offer from Apple was to get a new one with a very slight discount.

Long story short, it is more scratch resistant but also more prone to break. So be careful.

user_of_the_wek··on Client libraries are better when they have no API?
It always pains me to say, but when processing tabular data from sources I don't personally control, I prefer xlsx format. It's usually well supported by most export processes (in contrast to e.g. the LibreOffice equivalent) and I never had problems finding a library that can parse it. And you never have to solve the "anything goes" CSV problems you're talking about.
