unlikely I think, they're likely doing this to garner some interest in their company but they seem pretty interested in revenue (judging by the companies they're working with)
not saying what the EU does is a good thing but why don't I ever see any legislations like this from the US? we'd still have lightning on iPhones if it wasn't for the EU so some of what they introduce is net positive...
Agreed. I really like the feature. For people saying it's quite bad, from speaking to an engineer on that team at Google he says it's literally the output of a tiny LLM being fed the top websites results which makes sense to me.
why does it matter to you if it's AI or not? if you enjoy a song you shouldn't resent it just because it's AI generated. Me personally there's many AI songs that I like and enjoy listening to.
Sure it's not as good as Claude right now but for their first model in years it's certainly not bad. I hope they continue to develop models, having another competitor in the space would be nice.
Agreed, his two posts read really weirdly. He made a deliberately vague(?) initial post to get a response and I'm not sure how I feel about his story as you've said, if I was Sam Altman I'd be wary of anyone coming up to me too.
Am I the only one who thinks their reason for why theyre leaving Cloudflare didn't sound particularly sound... This blog post reads like something a Bunny.net employee would write
Maybe unpopular opinion but I think at this point SWE-Bench has done its part and we need a new benchmark because Gemini being on/near the same level as Claude is obviously wrong
This is cool but also it requires people to be quite knowledgeable about VCs, I know a lot of VCs but can say there was still a good amount that I didn't know there which means I won't vote for them. Also, this should be a ShowHN, no?
How much do we think that number is? I don't think we can determine it from the number of downloads it went down by? I prefer absolute numbers to percentages
They're quite scared to take risks I think, from what I heard it seems it was meant to be released already but they've delayed it a bunch, I wonder if in part due to AVP failure.
I don't think the average consumer is thinking about junkware nor physical design, it's just most people have iPhones especially in tech / young adults and thus more want to be on iPhone to share messages, airdrop, airpod support etcetc. They've created a network effect.
What's insane is that the market / users doesn't care, they're making more than ever... It's quite sad to see that vision pro, apple Intelligence and liquid glass were all failures and no one cared... I hope android makes a comeback against Apple in the US so they're forced to innovate.
