uncleleech··on Acer Travelmate 4150 retrofitting to Raspberry Pi Laptop, Part 1
I think this is a good idea but as mentioned in the article the connectors to keyboard and monitor are hard.

I guess there are XF86 standards and stuff for the keyboard but I still find it hard to think that it will behave exactly like the original.

Further, I would like to see more info on if the LCD gets working with the RPi because it seems like a great project.

Still, good luck with how the conversion works in the end!

"We're sorry but this site is not accessible from the UK as it is part of our international service and is not funded by the licence fee. It is run commercially by BBC Worldwide, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BBC, the profits made from it go back to BBC programme-makers to help fund great new BBC programmes. You can find out more about BBC Worldwide and its digital activities at www.bbcworldwide.com."
uncleleech··on How to create loading image using CSS only
I opened this and saw the loading spinner and sat there wondering why it was taking so long to load the spinner :/
uncleleech··on iPhone 8 Concept Design
I don't think they'll get rid of the physical (or at least in the case of the iPhone 7 kind-of-physical) button. It's part of their design language. If they do it would have to be a prominent, always on part of the UI.

That is of course unless they completely redesign the phone.

Still wont be getting one though

uncleleech··on CoVim – Collaborative Editing for Vim
I use it for LaTeX I guess.

Also markdown.

I can see how it would work really well for authors to an extent

uncleleech··on The Machine: On our collective efforts to save ourselves
I enjoy your vision, it's unique.

The only real question is how does the innate property of humans, greed, come into this. Surely this machine would need some interested corporation to construct it. Whatever company will, in essence be defunct by design and only exist in the short-term no?

EDIT: I guess other questions emerge, why won't such a power be wielded for capitalism, it seems pretty easy to create a false-scarcity market if only corporations owned such a machine.

Again, this is a post-scarcity scenario so I guess the moment that any one person not happy with keeping the status quo got their hands on one it would all be over.

I found this interesting: https://i.imgur.com/FrqmGMz.png

Apparently being a secretary is more moral than being a priest.
