unbeli··on Switzerland wil have a referendum to cap population at 10M
> Switzerland was part of Schengen from day one

I say! That's news to most.

unbeli··on Meta's Mandatory Return to Office Is 'A Mess'
What does it solve though? If the purpose of RTO is being together with your team, and you don't have enough desks to bring the team in the office at the same time, this solves basically nothing.
unbeli··on A Google Cloud support engineer solves a tough DNS case
Perhaps Reddit isn't a preferred support channel for them?
unbeli··on Google cloud outage
Perhaps you're right. I'll better discuss it privately.
unbeli··on Google cloud outage
[removed]
unbeli··on Google plans to move UK users' accounts outside EU jurisdiction
This has nothing to do with the actual location of the servers holding the data. Which would not be a single location anyway.
unbeli··on Browser extension that strips Google Analytics tokens from URL query strings
This is wishful thinking. How confident are you that you'll spot a well planted backdoor? Hint: the more capable you are, the less confident you should be.
unbeli··on Browser extension that strips Google Analytics tokens from URL query strings
Installing this extension basically means trusting a random dude (the author) with all the data passing through the browser just to screw over some random people trying to get coarse-grained stats on where people come to their websites from. Sounds like a rather idiotic idea, but I'm sure even this will have its users.
unbeli··on Chess champion to miss Saudi Arabia tournament over women's rights
This is bullshit, of course. He wasn't killed for waving a flag. He was killed because he was part of a violent group attacking Israeli soldiers.
unbeli··on EU Parliament calls for longer lifetime for products
That's available too and people do pay. For instance, https://www.vzug.com/ch/de/product/ch-Catalog/1101100004
unbeli··on Zcoin implementation bug enabled attacker to create over 500K Zcoins
I think that won't even compile due to an accidentally pasted URL here: https://github.com/zcoinofficial/zcoin/commit/0359bcb2ead7fe...
unbeli··on Russia plans Linux-based mobile operating system to rival Android and iOS
Can't agree more. This has nothing to do with "reducing Russian reliance on foreign technology," but rather with plain old corruption and theft.
unbeli··on Google Unveils a Tool to Check If Users Are Looking at Video Ads
Why is it just alcohol and gambling and not, say, cat food and toothbrushes? I understand you don't like alcohol and gambling, but how do you derive that others should be prevented from seeing what you don't like?
unbeli··on VNC Roulette
Most of them are not VNC on Windows, but Windows in QEMU, which provides VNC access to the console.
unbeli··on The Multiple SQLite Problem
Are you sure about that?

"A close() operation on one connection might unknowingly clear the locks on a different database connection, leading to database corruption."

unbeli··on Adware vendors buy Chrome Extensions to send ad- and malware-filled updates
Serve you more relevant ads? I don't really know. Which companies do you mean anyway? And what are these self-healing tracking methods?
unbeli··on Adware vendors buy Chrome Extensions to send ad- and malware-filled updates
What exactly are you trying to achieve with that, if I may ask?
unbeli··on Rap Genius is Back on Google
Read the article.

They are back because they did a lot of work finding all these bad links and using Google’s disavowal tool to kill them, not because of their VC funding or whatever other influence you think they have on Google.

unbeli··on Firefox introduces PDF viewer
"Sorry, this download is not supported by your system." Meh.
unbeli··on Ad-free Outlook and Hotmail ($19.95)
For example, by making it difficult to tell what part of the website is an ad.
unbeli··on Google.ie DNS was hacked (now fixed)
It's definitely NOT Google's servers hacked, since at least one other domain (yahoo.ie) was affected.
unbeli··on Google.ie DNS was hacked (now fixed)
yahoo.ie was hijacked too. Both are back to normal now, the incident duration was about 1h.
unbeli··on Face detection for cats in JavaScript
Nope, still fails on a cat-upright version: http://i48.tinypic.com/2i0ejxl.jpg
unbeli··on Face detection for cats in JavaScript
failed on this one: http://static.neatorama.com/images/2006-05/riley-maine-coon-...
unbeli··on Announcing real IEs for Browserling
Wanted to try, was bored to death by the queuing time. Annoying.
unbeli··on Interviewing at Google, Facebook, Foursquare, Dropbox, Fog Creek, etc
This is bullshit. None of these could be a real google interview question.
unbeli··on Chrome extension to randomize your User Agent (Underpants)
You are actually identifying yourself as user of that extension. This is a much smaller group than Chrome users.
