Can recommend the Inkscape book.
ukdm··on The phone with a projector
There will be a huge market for this, especially among the younger generations and when combined with access to video services like YouTube. Projectors in phones will become a standard feature just like cameras imo. They just need to make the pico projector unit smaller.

He states in the video it's a sub-machine gun with 100 rounds capacity.
ukdm··on Self-sustaining solar reactor creates clean hydrogen fuel
Sunlight, zinc oxide, and water goes in, hydrogen comes out. This is a prototype about to undergo 6 weeks of testing to answer the very question you pose about it being economically competitive. The main advantage this has? No emissions such as carbon dioxide.
ukdm··on 60 minutes: Is sugar toxic?
Me too. Just spent 8 weeks on a low carb diet and lost 17 pounds so far. Calories do not factor into it. Low carbs and low sugar intake lead to weight loss.
ukdm··on Raspberry Pi faces distribution troubles over CE certification
Eben states in the comments on the original post that both distributors didn't include compliance people during the contract stage. Raspberry Pi assumed that they could be like the Beagleboard and not require CE marking. So everyone involved overlooked it. More of the blame lies with the distributors I feel. I mean, they are meant to be the experts here, and have done this many times before.
ukdm··on Raspberri PI Release Announcement
FYI, if you order through Farnell, the total comes to £31.86 with free delivery. The device is actually £26.55 but then there's VAT to add in the UK.
ukdm··on Spark Linux tablet now available to pre-order
it does, right there at the bottom.
ukdm··on France convicts Google Maps for unfair competition
This seems ridiculous if it is the free version of the Google Maps API. But, if Google is offering the paid-for Business version of the API for free, then Bottin has a case. I don't see it stated anywhere if the case specifically targeted the free or business version of the API. Does anyone know?

ukdm··on Death of Matt Lightner (creator of Site5)
Tom Sepper (COO of Site5) posted on Web Hosting Talk (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showpost.php?s=fed7907b397ade5...) when someone asked this same question. His response included the following:

"With respect to everyone in mind, it's not our place to release any details (nor are they fully known)."

ukdm··on Merchant Says Amazon Sabotaged Its Business
This looks to be more than a heavy-handed approach. Amazon kept updating the terms in order to stifle M-Edge. They even demanded a cut of the profits from sales to other retailers, while at the same time copying (and infringing) M-Edge's jacket design. At least, that's what is being claimed in the lawsuit.

ukdm··on 17-year-old wins 100k for creating cancer-killing nanoparticle
It's not about the money though, is it? Imagine being 17, working on a project you are really passionate about, and then someone saying well done with 100k. Then think about what the coverage of your achievement will do for you, opening doors to the future you desire so much. The cash is just a nice extra I'd imagine.

ukdm··on Superhydrophobic spray means no more clothes to wash
Why wash? If the shoe is coated in NeverWet you just pour out the moisture, right?
ukdm··on Superhydrophobic spray means no more clothes to wash
Moisture off the body would just run down the inside of the garment presumably. As for breathability, that may be an issue.

ukdm··on I quit my job last March and it was a bad idea.
I have to agree with this. At the moment you are under a lot of stress and not thinking straight because you have no cash and no idea what you want to do. You need something to level you, get you back to a a place where you can at least pay rent, pay some bills, and decide what you really want as a career.

There is nothing wrong with taking a position where the work doesn't really require much thought or have great prospects down the line. It doesn't sound like that's what you need right now, you would beenfit from some time and a bit more security. Then use those free eveings you have after work to figure out what's next.

I guess when you're talking about the 27" and 30" displays that's the case, but 24" seems to be where the very low power use can be seen. LG has a display it claims only consumes 28 watts, so an array of 6 of those and you'd still have some watts to spare on the InterView.
