Should libraries be quasar-aware to not end up in the IO workers pool when invoked?
To put it differently, can I make 10000 concurrent HTTP requests (to different domains), using a non-NIO HTTP client library, without ending up with one OS thread per request?
If I can, how does the scheduler manage it?
In my own micro-benchmark, I've seen that BSON decoding takes big chunk of time when using mgo. That should explain why the go version got faster when DB access was removed.
This shouldn't come as a surprise as the node.js driver uses a BSON parser written in C++ by default.
However the benefits to the person helping the child is minuscule compared to the risk of ending up in prison and being added to sex offenders list. It is minuscule even compared to the risk of undergoing a criminal trial.
There is also work underway to make the GC more precise which will avoid this problem in future.
With HUD in 12.04, it's the only widely-used DE I can control almost entirely with keyboard.

Most other languages would need a lot more (even with things like mod_perl). Plain PHP is definitely incomparable to Rails/Django but for web development, it definitely is much more than just Perl/Python/Ruby.They pay for H.264 license to distribute their decoder, but collect royalty for their patents from every other codec vendor, device maker and commercial video distributor in the world.
Here's an example scenario I described in my blog an year back. http://tuxychandru.blogspot.com/2010/01/how-git-shines-above...
