I'd love to try it out too.

Realize that I'm really bad at marketing. Trying to work on it.

It lets you take a picture of video games and shows price comparisons for the major buy lists.

ttrashh··on OpenAI agrees with Dept. of War to deploy models in their classified network

I consider your comment harassment. I think it should be removed.

Slippery slope don't you think?

ttrashh··on The JustDecompile .NET decompiler engine has been open-sourced
I had the opposite experience. DotPeek created much better code. using statements were decompiled as usings, JustDecompile produced try/finally blocks.
ttrashh··on Building and Running .NET’s CoreCLR on OS X
One of JetBrains primary products is Resharper. It's a must have add on for Visual Studio. If we're going to be subjective I'd say no other IDE gets close to the combination of Visual Studio and Resharper.
ttrashh··on Introducing Aurelia
We use Durandal as our SPA framework and we love it. So glad to see this. Rob knows how to write a framework.
ttrashh··on Restart: Microsoft in the age of Satya Nadella
He is saying that real time text translation has been there. Microsoft has the translator app that will display the translated text as an "augmented" overlay when you hold the camera up.
ttrashh··on All About Angular 2.0 (2014)
Rob is a brilliant guy. We've used his WPF/Silverlight mvvm framework for years. Our consulting company uses durandal.js for current projects. It looks like Durandal v2 is now called Aurelia. I have high hopes for it, he knows how to write a framework.

ttrashh··on Microsoft Build 2014 Day 1 live
They had Windows 8. Then Windows 8.1. Now it's Windows 8.1 Update 1. (Another terrible name in a long line of terrible Microsoft product names)
ttrashh··on Angular Vs Knockout Final Thoughts
I'm not sure why he is comparing knockout to angular. Angular is an entire framework and knockout is a small piece for binding. Seems like Durandal vs Angular would be a better comparison.

I just finished a large project with Durandal that went great. I fell in love with it. I'm eager to try Angular on the next one to see how they stack up.

If you don't care about IE8 you can get rid of the observables on your models with the ES5 plugin. http://blog.stevensanderson.com/2013/05/20/knockout-es5-a-pl...
ttrashh··on Hands On With The New And Improved Screenhero (YC W13)
We use this working remotely but we use it just as much sitting side by side in the office. Love this app.
ttrashh··on Javascript Framework Popularity graphed by Github Archive
Using Durandal/Knockout on our current project. Entire team is very happy.
ttrashh··on Goodbye Silverlight
Many window users faced Silverlight quality issues themselves due to their .Net frameworks not being up to date. For the best performance, they needed to download the .Net 4.0 SDK in Windows, which is something the average Netflix customer would not be willing to do.

Silverlight doesn't require the .Net framework on the machine. Not sure what performance issues he is talking about but Silverlight has better streaming features and performance than flash or html5.

ttrashh··on Blink: A rendering engine for the Chromium project
Chrome for iOS is just a wrapper around Safari.
ttrashh··on Ask HN: What JS framework do you use for web apps?
knockout.js

require.js

durandal.js

ttrashh··on IE10 won't run Flash unless website is whitelisted by Microsoft
DRM, better streaming, C# and the .Net framework
ttrashh··on CSS Flexbox Please
Really enjoying grid layout. I wish it was well supported. Makes so much more sense than what we have today.
ttrashh··on Ask HN: reading list for high school students interested in CS?
Neuromancer and Snow Crash always inspired me.
ttrashh··on Microsoft Open Sources their Entity Framework ORM
Entity Framework has entity sql right? You don't have to use linq?
ttrashh··on Ask HN: What Windows 8 Metro apps are you working on?
I'm working on a Reddit app in Xaml.
ttrashh··on Microsoft Introduces New "Surface" Tablet
I have the Samsung reference tablet from Build. The stylus works very very well. Being able to lay my hand on the screen and write accurately is great.
ttrashh··on GitHub for Windows
Nice work xpaulbettsx! Great to see a Caliburn.Micro getting some props. We're using it on a large WPF app now.

How many people were on the team? Did you let Phil write any Xaml?

ttrashh··on Microsoft Is Writing Checks to Fill Out Its App Store
I always shake my head a bit when I see people mention Zune like this. The hardware (and software on device) was fantastic. Much better than the iPods at the time imho. Look at the reviews on Amazon sometime. http://www.amazon.com/Zune-Video-MP3-Player-Platinum/dp/B002...

The Zune software is beautiful. It's a little heavy on occasion but much better than iTunes (again heavy imho). Zune pass is a great music service as well. It's not as unique as it once was since Spotify and others let you play what you want on demand but it's price similarly and you get to own a few of the songs each month.

ttrashh··on Poll: What's Your Favorite Programming Language?
The new await/async in C# 5 is beautiful. Just try/catch around an await and suddenly async is easy to read and handle errors.
ttrashh··on Submitting your Windows 8 apps

ttrashh··on Building Windows for the ARM processor architecture
Apple wouldn't release something like this because they are a black box. At least Microsoft is blogging about the process and eliciting feedback along the way.
