trumpdong··on Suspension of the de minimis administrative exemption for imports $800 or less
On the contrary, this blocks you from bypassing big pharma.
trumpdong··on NASA’s Mars Sample Return mission is dead
The reason is money. The US has the world reserve currency which basically means infinite money. This will soon end and China will have the world reserve currency.
trumpdong··on Spain orders blocks on Archive.today and its mirrors
Like how you never stab your enemies because you'd go to jail, even though it never gets to jail because you don't stab your enemies because you'd go to jail

Yes it's censorship.
trumpdong··on Good people refuse to do bad things
Thought Emporium is a YouTube channel that has showcased garage gene editing - with some equipment.
trumpdong··on Good people refuse to do bad things
Everything that gets upvoted on HN has been written by AI. Because AI writing works (if your goal is to attract upvotes).
trumpdong··on Good people refuse to do bad things
"no ethical consumption under capitalism" is true, explains why we can't just stop bad things (everything is bad, so you'd starve) and is a jumping off point for a discussion of what we can actually do about it without starving.
trumpdong··on Good people refuse to do bad things
When Antifa attempts to keep more of its money so that Hindenburg can have less, that's good. When Hitler attempts to keep more of my money so that Hindenburg can have less, that's bad. That's because Hitler is worse than Hindenburg and Hindenburg is worse than Antifa.

This isn't the first. What did it mean for human embryonic gene editing?
trumpdong··on Spain orders blocks on Archive.today and its mirrors
Of course it's censorship. It's the government blocking certain content from the internet, without a trial. How do you define censorship?
trumpdong··on Spain orders blocks on Archive.today and its mirrors
Oh no! They won't implement censorship without a court decision? How tragic!

I think they are writing how news censorship can be used to edit opinions, but changed news to sports streams.

Like how we all download hundreds of gigabytes of Linux ISOs.

Europe has so many parties. But they all agree on this because to disagree would be to attract an aerial democracy delivery from the USA.

It's a legal requirement, all US sites must block Iran due to sanctions.

Totalitarian states have never had trouble due to insufficient infrastructure. If it doesn't already exist, they will build it quickly.
trumpdong··on We all depend on open source. We will defend it together
I think you can get recognition just as well with share-alike licenses. Plus you leave the opportunity open to ask for money for a different license grant.
trumpdong··on The Doorman's Fallacy in action
Which people shouldn't do which jobs?
trumpdong··on Framework's 10G Ethernet module exposes USB-C's complexity
If you have a fixed computer or NAS, stop making excuses and install a 10G fiber card in it.

If you have a laptop or TV it probably doesn't need 10G.

trumpdong··on Framework's 10G Ethernet module exposes USB-C's complexity
Ethernet comes with a completely different set of social norms, like not having a master and slave device.
trumpdong··on We all depend on open source. We will defend it together
But that's already what open source is...
trumpdong··on The Garbage Collection Handbook: The Art of Automatic Memory Management (2nd Ed) (2023)
The Linux kernel has garbage collection, and not just the controversial refcount kind.
trumpdong··on You can't unit test for taste
AI written article with two fullscreen popups?
trumpdong··on The 'papers, please' era of the internet will decimate your privacy
Age verification is identity verification... except when it's in California or Illinois?
trumpdong··on Improvement in advanced Alzheimer’s disease following high-dose psilocybin
Psychedelics lead people to realize "truths"

Some of them are real, like becoming horrified by war. Other times the subjects think they've spoken with God. But I don't think they ever made anyone more pro-war.

trumpdong··on Improvement in advanced Alzheimer’s disease following high-dose psilocybin
so is everything this administration already did
trumpdong··on The Reversal Curse: LLMs trained on "A is B" fail to learn "B is A" (2023)
Why don't you think the word Oman maps to the vector space of countries? Have you checked?
trumpdong··on The Reversal Curse: LLMs trained on "A is B" fail to learn "B is A" (2023)
Why can't it understand any of those? LLMs understand all kinds of context. That's all they do, actually - map context to to other context. Attention is a context-finding block, and attention is all you need.
trumpdong··on Polymarket has flooded social media with deceptive videos by paid creators
I meant: Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act
trumpdong··on Polymarket has flooded social media with deceptive videos by paid creators
Digital Markets Act and Digital Devices Act in the EU

This is not correct. It's a politician's job to make them selfrich by any means necessary. It's a lawyer's job to make you pay for as many hours as possible.
