troseph··on Fix the iOS keyboard before the timer hits zero or I'm switching back to Android
I had kind of accepted maybe I had brain damage or something when it came to typing on my phone recently. I pulled out my iphone X the other day and had the most validating feeling of "I can type on my phone again".
troseph··on Reading Neuromancer for the first time in 2025
I couldn't find this anywhere, I tried the version on audible but it can barely stay awake. The narration is soooooo bland.
troseph··on Lucid dreaming app triples users' awareness in dreams, study finds
I had 2.5mg of thc every day for ~7 years. I couldn't remember the last dream I had when I quit thc in August. After not sleeping for 2-3 weeks I started having vivid nightmares every night for about a week. I'm still having extremely vivid dreams since, but they're no longer all terrifying. Sleeping better than ever and my anxiety is also better than ever.
troseph··on Sysadmin shock as Windows Server 2025 installs itself after labeling error
David Attenborough voiced "Sysadmins are cautious by nature" in my head.
troseph··on The Seamless Communication models
I feel like naming something "seamless" is not dissimilar to calling the Titanic unsinkable.
troseph··on Apple has a memory problem and we're all paying for it
I run a 3d printing business, design, manufacturing, CAD/CAM, designed my own marketing materials, website, etc etc from my 8G M2 Macbook Air, never once did I feel like I needed more RAM.
troseph··on Ask HN: Those with ADHD. What's a hobby that never gets boring?
Botany. Install iNaturalist and start researching and tagging stuff. It gets you outside more, gets you excited about places you’ve been 1000 times and gets you wondering what new thing you’ll see next. Start with anything that is flowering. Flowers are the best and easiest way to identify most plants. Seed pod and cones are the next easiest. You’ll be familiar with most of the things you’ve wondered about in a couple weeks or months and hungry for more.
troseph··on Reverse-engineering the TL431: the most common chip you’ve never heard of (2014)
I learned about those while google searching every component on my first Arduino in hopes to better understand how the thing worked.

Android or Facebook?
troseph··on New Life Found That Lives Off Electricity (2016)
Just salt. Sea salt. Lots of it compared to “normal”. You get a taste for it.
troseph··on New Life Found That Lives Off Electricity (2016)
Yes, facetious about keto. Only supplementing with additional salt. Still take a daily multi - otherwise nothing special other than loads of mayo, bacon, cheese, eggs and beef.
troseph··on New Life Found That Lives Off Electricity (2016)
I have lost 79lbs on that diet.
