2) ADD A "DONATE" BUTTON. Easily implemented, you will explicitally ask people for a trivial amount (2$? 5$?) to help you keep the website alive. Say people that your blog helps people but you can't just keep paying for it.

Seo is a competition. You cant be serving both me and my competitor. Whose website do you promise to.get better ranking to? Who pays you the most? I'd rather just pays adwords then.
The value is not _strictly_ in the statement themselves, but in the process that came to define them and in how you implement the "how to get there".
I would reccomend everybody to read HBRs 10 Must Read on Business Strategy (http://amzn.to/wuvIoW), a small book that seriously makes you think why some companies fail and some make it.
There's a full chapter on mission/vision and I think it's your best answer on how to approach the whole process.
My problem with SEO is that I don't have the time to do all the "backlinking" thing.
I optimize(d) my website the best I can, I participate in relevant discussions in relevant forums, and I spend my time creating content for my website and coordinating my writers and keeping relationships with the companies.
This on top of my full time job and playing with my daughter.
I really just need somebody to do the manual work :(
Yes car fanatics like all kind of cars, but you might create better, tighter communities if you selected one (and eventually replicate) niches: modders/racers could have some car porn to look at, antiques/american classics too but are very different than the fast&furious crowd...
It would help you get a better identity (just my 2 cents)
First, I don't like "vehicle". it's not strictly a car and it's just a non-commercial word in my opinion. Second, "share" makes me think it is a car-sharing service, rather than a picture sharing service.
Then, unrequested advice for monetization!! I think you should let the users add the story of the car (There's the "car blog" button but I am not really sure how that works - maybe it's me, but it's not clear and you should make sure that the website is clear even to the dumbest of your readers).
Then, you might want to add a box "for sale Y/N" and if yes, the yes is clickable and you can then start an auction or put the two parts in contact... and get a little cut of the transaction.
It's a large numbers game... from my blog maybe 1,000 people read the article and of those maybe 20 bought the app.. but the ones who bought it probably recommended it to their friends etc..
contact 50 blogs, it's time better spent than twitting IMHO
