transitKnox··on IPv8: The Draft of a New Internet
Hey there! This is my blog post, and I just want to chime in and say that I don't believe this proposal is feasible at all for a few reasons. My main problem with it was the Zone Server, but there are plenty more problems that had already been debated ad nauseum over the last few months. I was going to schedule my follow up post titled Why it Won't Work for later this week but ended up shipping the post yesterday when this one started to take off. Give it a read, too. Best wishes
transitKnox··on Show HN: Privacy policy generator for AI apps (LLM disclosure, EU AI Act)
The footer say "Not legal advice — consult a qualified attorney for your specific situation" so I'm guessing it's a starting point
transitKnox··on Show HN: Open-source restreaming and live studio
I'm definitely familiar with the paid offerings in this space, but I will say it's cool to see an open source offering for the non-professional influencers to get started with
transitKnox··on Ubiquiti: Enterprise NAS, Built on ZFS
Been a long time fan of Ubiquiti, and I think this product will do particularly well in small-medium businesses. Think of the local marketing firm with 40 employees. They likely have an office with Unifi networking, and they LIKELY hire an MSP to do their IT work. An MSP will easily try to sell this as their storage solution since they can manage the infrastructure with one login to the UBNT dashboard.
transitKnox··on Only 16 Percent of Americans Think AI Will Have a Positive Impact on Society
This isn't terribly surprising. Americans either think AI is so good that it will replace their jobs, or AI is so bad that it will cause too many mistakes. Their beliefs aren't unfounded, but it gets more accurate by the quarter. I personally think it all just shifts - AI becomes much more reliable and accurate over time, and as such, we all use it to be 30-100% more effective at our work.
transitKnox··on SpaceX to buy Cursor AI coding agent operator Anysphere for $60B
Well that's a lot of money. They must see this as a distribution pipeline for Grok?
transitKnox··on Show HN: Trace – Offline Mac meeting transcripts you can flag mid-call
Would it be hard to add a summarization feature? Or put an executive overview at the top of the transcript?
transitKnox··on Show HN: Tamper-evident audit trail for AI coding agent activity
An audit log for AI coding is clever. I think the ability to encrypt-and-ship the logs (backups) on an interval will be really useful for organizations seeking something like SOC2 or ISO27001.
