trallnag··on PipePipe: NewPipe hard fork implementing SponsorBlock
From time to time I get blocked by YouTube and both NewPipe and PipePipe become unusable. I wonder if it has something to do with my internet provider putting me behind a CGNAT proxy

trallnag··on Stop Killing the Internet: No Digital ID and No Age Verification
>securely and anonymously

Not possible. Why do advocates of age verification bring this argument up again and again? It is not possible.

trallnag··on Rebuilding My Homelab with Compose, Ruby, IPv6, and No Kubernetes
I would have assumed that observability components (Prometheus, etc) dwarf the control plain when it comes to activity. At least with not extremely dynamic workloads. And you mention that it was due to shifting workloads. If the demands are static, nothing should shift in my experience?

trallnag··on EU to legislate about Chat Control behind closed doors
Maybe the EU can work together with Russia on the Max messenger
trallnag··on EU to legislate about Chat Control behind closed doors
This is just outright wrong. Europe in general has gotten less and less violent over the last decade. Despite evils like the internet, smartphones, and tiktok. I'd argue it has become more difficult to rile up people than it was 40 years ago
trallnag··on EU to legislate about Chat Control behind closed doors
China, Russia, and friends will provide digital escape hatches for Western cititizens and vice versa it seems
trallnag··on What we call "age verification" is actually mass surveillance
The total fertility rate in basically all western countries is below replacement level fertility. Without immigration we are shrinking. There are fewer and fewer children around. And now protecting children on the internet got top priority. For real? We point to Russia for controlling the internet more and more. Yet the EU does the same and will probably even overtake Russia on this thanks to more resources / competencies.
