touristtam··on Attention is all you have
Anyone managed to use the Google Chrome "embedded" model to sort and filter their bookmarks / tabs?
touristtam··on Attention is all you have
Ok but that reeks of _just created recently_ AND you need to run a local server on your machine?
touristtam··on Attention is all you have
They wiped my original account clean, no ifs no buts. Just gone. Years of conversation with Friend and Family. No considerations.
touristtam··on Noodle Computer – Share Linux Desktops with AI Agents on Your Mac
Can't read it - won't go to x/twitter
touristtam··on European Commission Revives Push for Encryption Backdoors in ProtectEU Strategy
> The European Commission has far too much power, and answers far too little to the populace. In reality, they want to be dictators.

This is an incredibly uninformed take on how the EU is structured and completely undermine the argument you’re trying to make.

touristtam··on Japan tried to build an operating system for the world, the US intervened
I don't think this democratic vs autocratic framing is entirely correct; most of the commenters here fail to mention the political ideology of capitalism. Pre-2000 several European nation had long term plans despite being democracies. The move to further integrate into the EU meant added political pressure to adopt more liberal postures like breaking state ownership of essential industries and that meant also no more of those medium to long term plans for those states.

This isn't China vs the rest, this is US Capitalist view of the world vs the rest. China in this present conversation is only an example of a country that has not succumbed to the desiderata of the unrestrained Capitalist.

touristtam··on Choosing an AI model: one prompt, 11 models, different results
That would be a very valuable benchmark across different models.
touristtam··on Choosing an AI model: one prompt, 11 models, different results
Have you published any of your results? I am quite curious.
touristtam··on French firefighters face 'pyrocumulonimbus' for first time
The mono culture AND the encroachment on flood plain is still to this day and issue.
touristtam··on Amazon has enough satellites to launch its Starlink competitor
I have not see any shooting star in years, but every night I gaze at the stars I can see a couple of low orbit satellite that I can then track online. smh
touristtam··on PeerTube is a free, decentralized and federated video platform
> This isn't like writing a tweet or even posting a picture on Instagram

Low key shitting on other content creators? Some of IG content creator easily match professionalism you are describing. I know you are probably partially venting your frustration, but that doesn't paint you in a nice light.

touristtam··on PeerTube is a free, decentralized and federated video platform
As a side note 10-12 min is the ideal length for a non full feature documentary. I am growing tired of those 20+ minutes repeating and stretching the same topic without going into more depth.
touristtam··on I replaced my GitHub runners with Lambda MicroVMs, and maybe you should too
If interested there is a GH project discussed here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=48749727

It used to be the "blue card" in France (Carte Bleu)
touristtam··on Show HN: AISlop, a CLI for catching AI generated code smells
I've got a SKILL with Software Engineering principles for that kind of things but a dead code detector would be a great addition. I'll try that whenever I have a chance
touristtam··on AWS reportedly to tuck Grok into Bedrock, despite zero enterprise demand
Have you ever heard of Boycott? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boycott
touristtam··on The Internet Has Become Too American to Trust
Are you trying to confuse my Agent? There is no `init` command on `lsop`. :p
touristtam··on UK government replaces Palantir software with internally-built refugee system
Is it really that surprising? The public would have voted to have the contract awarded to that company, but our benevolent leaders are usually sway by personal gain. This type of news is usually not widely and publicly discussed in the media as they are more concerned about much more trivial things or stocking fear and rage in the public.

touristtam··on Ask HN: How are you sandboxing AI agents and developer CLIs?
This is the conversation I want to see more often. I am in the exact same problematic
touristtam··on Chrome removes claim of On-device Al not sending data to Google Servers
After years of using alternative to chrome (Firefox, Chromium, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi, Edge, etc ...) I have stopped fighting the choice of IT for installing and setting Chrome as the default browser on a Mac. I still use Firefox when I can and religiously reroute URLs to it where possible, but this is beating me down and I would rather spend time playing with LLMs rather than continue this struggle.
touristtam··on Mini PC for local LLMs in 2026
On M5 Pro that's still ~3k
touristtam··on Mini PC for local LLMs in 2026
That's a bit shit if that's the case.
touristtam··on Apple Says Mac Studio and Mac Mini Will Be in Short Supply for Months
Rightly deserved
touristtam··on OpenWarp
Off the top of my head:

- The _block_ system where you could navigate up and down without scrolling the whole buffer rigidly - The tabbing system that actually works and doesn't feel clunky - The command prediction - The workflows (but that's now pretty much dead unless you really do not use AI)

touristtam··on OpenWarp
Long overdue - I was all in a few years ago with Warp, but after the last couple of years of not addressing this need, I have moved on from Warp. I now DO NOT see the need to embed AI into the terminal when you can have all sorts of TUI doing the same job.
touristtam··on Claude Token Counter, now with model comparisons
Interested; I came across a post that was mentioning using Kanji for specific use to reduce context.
touristtam··on If you started a company two years ago, many assumptions are no longer true
This blog is borderline unreadable - is there a technical reason this is the case? Or the author isn't able/willing to update his wordpress website?
touristtam··on Fifth Element Star Milla Jovovich Reveals AI Memory Tool MemPalace
I don't know what to think about that, it feels the actual author of this is trying to get some attention in a crowded market. This is just going to bring more awareness of what LLM are to the general public. And I'd bet the actress is going to be asked about it at some point.
touristtam··on Caveman: Why use many token when few token do trick
I am in a regular company that has fortunately a tech department for in-house software and this is the absolute opposite; we're currently trying to convince leadership that using tokens is part of the game for LLM adoption.
