Last time i checked you need to swipe to confirm every time your automation attempts to send a message? kinda kills the automation part. I was shocked that there was almost nothing to be automated with messages on IOS as third party apps can't even read or send them. The Tasker app for android is great for this kind of thing.
If the bubble bursts a lot of BS jobs will go away including a lot of jobs in the 'innovative' sector, which only exist due to Americans having more cash than they know what to do with. Think the 23rd food delivery app, uber but for x, crypto, etc. Cowboys will be devastated but the highly skilled and credentialed will always have options.
Cyber crims are financially motivated and today there are far easier/lower risk options for hackers. Just look at the people who lose 6 figure crypto balances to automated twitter scams or fake crypto celeb live-stream stream replays.
I'm honestly more comfortable with Google than companies that pretend to be into the whole privacy thing. At least Google doesn't try deceive you. I really hope nobody here uses TOR (developed by Mozilla?) for anything important, It seems like large parts of the network is owned by the govt.
The site wasn't using it to block me, just to prompt a captcha, without doing so to 'real' browsers.
The HTTP requests were exact copies of browser requests (in terms of how the server would've seen them), so it was something below HTTP. I ended up finding a lot of info about Cloudflare and the TLS stuff on StackOverflow, with others having similar issues. Someone even made an API to do the TLS stuff as a service, but was too expensive for me. https://pixeljets.com/blog/scrape-ninja-bypassing-cloudflare...
Would be cool if there was something like this for Python. Last time i tried to scrape something interesting i found that one of Cloudflare's enterprise options was easily blocking all of the main http libraries due to the identifiable TLS handshake.
It can be even worse than suspending you, as early as 2018 i noticed they were shadow banning you based on VPN (PIA also). Meaning you could still post but not be seen, or have the ability to notify people you replied to. I've never since bothered to have an account there. Reddit's CEO, like Jack Dorsey, denies 'shadow banning', even though you can test it by getting -100 karma and watching your comments reach nobody. The negative karma shadow ban is why Reddit is the biggest hivemind on the internet, FYI.
I reported a funeral fundraiser for a criminal gang where i live a few weeks ago to Gofundme. These funerals involve reckless, high speed driving by hundreds of bikies wearing Swastika vests who hurl violence/verbal abuse at people if they happen to get in the way. I provided all this info and they didn't do anything.
A reasonable person would think a Gofundme for a group who derive their income from the methamphetamine trade would be higher risk than a bunch of truckies, but then again it didn't raise near $10m usd.
It's heavily regulated and subsidized in NZ and it's also lot more un-affordable here. Since a few years ago we've been allowed to withdraw our version of a 401k to buy houses, to give you an idea of how much the govt has been trying to prop things up.
I logged into my google account on a mobile emulator VM while testing some apps and have since deleted the VM. However, when i sign into my gmail acc it has 'tap yes on your android x device to confirm it's you' (which i deleted). I have recreated the exact emulator VM and the same thing happens..
Why is android bad in your opinion? i personally went for IOS recently due to privacy, security being important to me(3 years of security update for 1.4k android device is ridiculous), but I'm pretty jealous of android's software, usability and its users not having to buy everything apple to do simple tasks.
I don't feel like MS would do better on security or privacy compared to android.
Not only was the doubling part from Runescape but this kind of live stream-replay tactic was also first used for phishing Runescape accounts when Twitch first got popular. They would replay developer live-streams with 'use the link below to log in for free RS membership' subtitles, and view-bot the streams to the front page of RS twitch. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same guys who pivoted to crypto to target much more foolish victims.
This seems like quite a low effort investigation that also just assumes all transactions are victims.
My guess is that throughout the live stream they would have shills in the chat LARPING as genuine viewers sending their crypto and successfully receiving the reward, so a lot of the TXs would be from the scammers themselves used to fool other sheeple.
I could hear these large thuds all the way from the top of the south island, NZ, in the hills and at around the same time others were reporting it. Definitely heard like 20+ of these sounds, just assumed it was some anti-pest thing going off at random intervals but it was pine forest so doubt it was that.
They offer the worst currency conversion rate imaginable when you go to withdraw to your non-US bank, so some people prefer to keep it in PP as a USD spending account i guess.
Governments need to ban 'shotgun KYC', which is where they let you put funds in the account before they freeze it and make you do KYC, rather than making you do KYC directly on sign-up. You're effectively forced to give away your info or lose the funds. Sites like Paypal don't want this to happen because registrations would drop off majorly if you had to KYC on sign up.
I believe the socializing/networking thing is over-sold unless you go to a top-tier uni where students may be from wealthy families and are therefore well socialized, or do something non-cs like business studies. Everyone i studied with were introverts (gamer-types). High school was way better for socializing. Oh and there were like 2 females total in all of my CS classes.
No, it isn't. A tight labor market which provides more opportunities for on-the-job training is positive for everybody except those who made their money selling fake tickets.
Something I've learned from Reddit is that people do actually LARP about things like income, even when they're posting anonymously on these kind of forums. This is likely one of those instances. And i don't believe anybody earning 1m+ would take Tim Ferris seriously.
I always thought most Google employees would be creating less value than what they earn, with a few of Google's money printer products enabling such high remuneration for everybody.
Is it really a bad take? my parents & aunt had 28,34% gains respectively on the value of their main properties in just 1 year. I'm going to have to pay for that (or settle for a lot less living space) if i want to own anything here in the future. Definitely feels like a wealth transfer.
