Thanks Alex, I sincerely hope to in the future, but it isn't in the cards for a few years! We do tastings in Chicago however, I can put you on the list if you send me your email: tony@chicagoteagarden.com

Ten Ren is way overpriced. IMO the best one in Chicago is Todd and Holland.

hey, OP here... Researchers are still out to lunch as far as tea goes with: weight loss, cancer prevention, anti-aging, and diabetes as many conflicting studies have been made. The affects L-theanine, and the combination of L-theanine with Caffeine have been studied and there has been little variance in their conclusions. Myself, along with a few other tea industry-ites have been following these reports. We scoff at all of the weight loss tea spam out there and question each study that comes out. This is only to serve as a culmination of several studies done specifically about the combination of L-theanine and Caffeine. Enjoy! Questions? Find me on twitter: @worldoftea

I used medical journals for the research, they are all behind paywalls -- if you have access to some University Journal Databases, check the sources in the bottom of the articles. The most recent study was published in December of 2010.

Anything you like, it is best to approach tea by taste, not by health benefits... start with experimentation -- whites, greens, oolongs, yellows, blacks, pu-erhs all have extremely different tastes.

It depends not just on each tea, but each harvest of each tea since theanine levels are affected by levels of sunlight the leaves have received.

All teas contain L-theanine. I too am skeptical about all of the health-information swirling around about teas these days, which is why I researched this topic and wrote about it.

tony584··on Hacker's Guide to Tea
yeah, I wasn't quite going towards the British way of tea. I was aiming for a bit further back in history to the basic Chinese and Japanese principles of tea - but that's a great guide too!
tony584··on Hacker's Guide to Tea
I like to start each day with coffee and then move to tea. So I get the jolt in the morning, then the sustained tea high the rest of the day.

IngenuiTEA is a great way to do it. or you can MacGyver it and just strain the leaves with a cheap strainer. Their Naperville shop is great.

Thanks! This is awesome. I'm sure i can twist drupal + ubercart's arm to make the image preview thing happen. I do get a free SSL banner from Authorize.net so I should definitely sort that out. I've gotten so many good actionable ideas. Thanks a gain and have a great day!

This is also great advice -- thank you so much. These are things I did not realize when I designed the site. I do feel as if shipping costs are a real killer, I just cannot afford to ship for any less. I actually had someone email me telling me that my shipping was a rip-off and that I should do $1.99 flat rate or free shipping. Truth is, I sometimes lose money on shipping if I'm sending priority across country. Thanks again, I'm going to make these changes and watch my abandonment rate.

Thanks a lot! This is really helpful. You are right, I will definitely look into the 1024x768 scrollbar issue I did not know about that one. All of the other issues are also now on my to-do list. Thanks for the great advice. Cheers to better conversion rates!

I own http://www.chicagoteagarden.com - I'm using Ubercart for the checkout page. We don't have a huge amount of cart abandonment but I'm wondering if you see room for improvement as far as the UI goes. Thanks! My email is tony@chicagoteagarden.com

yeah i've used Atlas Software before ... http://www.atlassoft.com they are pretty good - and they have an office in Chicago so you don't have to deal directly with the outsourced team - give them a call at 312.419.1945
