tommis··on My startup is Microsoft-based, here's why
I'm curious, why would you disqualify a SaaS product solely because it's based on MS?
tommis··on Adblock Plus “typo correction” feature adds affiliate IDs to links
There is NO proof or evidence of tampering with amazon refs.

Still a lot of people are reporting the extension or looking for alternatives in this thread.

Seriously: Not everything you read on the web is true. This smells like a smear campaign, nothing more - until real evidence or proof is shown of the claims.

tommis··on Sweden warrantlessly wiretaps all Internet traffic crossing its borders
This is actually old news, but what is interesting is that recently Finlands gov. approved plans to layout new cable to the sea, so that internet traffic can be routed from Finland to Germany, bypassing Sweden all together...

Picture from the article shows how the connection towards Europe/US goes trough Germany and the connections towards Asia will be directed trough nothern part of Finland, trough Norway - instead of Sweden:

tommis··on Obama’s Remarks on NSA Controversy
>Now, with respect to the Internet and emails, this does not apply to U.S. citizens, and it does not apply to people living in the United States.

For EU and rest of the world: Every message (email/IM,anything..) trough gmail, hotmail, AOL or facebook is stored by US Gov. and used as they see fit.

tommis··on Why Finnish babies sleep in cardboard boxes
Unfortunately you can't, but you should be able to buy most of the items off the shelf in Finland (except the original cardboard box).

This page displays the contents of this years box with the contents:

Here's an infomercial demoing the contents: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVPw2_A9V5Y

Lot of the clothes are from finnish company Reima, which have an online shop:

tommis··on Why Finnish babies sleep in cardboard boxes
During the prenatal checkups here in Finland, they also do ultrasounds (2-3 times if I remember correctly) and they will ask you if you want to know.

The box contents is neutral mainly for logistical purposes. It's cheaper to have all the boxes with same content than to carry two lines of blue and pink boxes :)

tommis··on Flat UI DMCA Takedown
If we look at Webdings (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Webdings - TrueType dingbat font developed in 1997), there's actually a newspaper icon there that looks a lot like all of these:
