Got introduced to Jeff after watching him keynote a conference about a decade ago. He's a great speaker. Also thought they had some interesting tech when it came to computer vision at the time. Sadly it never took off and then ConvNets blew whatever Numenta was doing out of the water. Surprised even with someone like Jeff that Numenta hasn't had any commercial success.

a lot of these AI companies products are really terrible. Has anyone ever tried the AI API models from clarifai ? Just so unaccurate. It seems like a scam. I've also had a really bad experience with watson's speech to text apis.

This gets me very excited. As a bay area resident, we've seen the income stratification from these companies ruin our way of life. It's just untenable.

You don't get it. She's aptly taking advantage of a liberal trend which is negative sentiment to companies causing income stratification in their respective and potential locations.

She doesn't really care about the underlying cause. If that was so then your points would be valid.

But look at how many news articles got published and how many people are getting excited about the thought. Being against successful technology companies is currently what liberals want and she's feeding her party.

Seems like an awful place to work. They have a role I was about to apply to in the bay area. Looks like I'll avoid this place.

I'm not a new yorker. But I'm a 100% a fan of AOC and fully agree that Amazon has no business ruining NYC and causing gentrification to LIC. I can't help but feel for the families, businesses and communities this will disrupt.
