tokai··on Mistral Large 4
>instruction manuals in paper form

So the most common way to publish manuals?

tokai··on Martian chaos terrain
I'm surprised that we do not have any chaos terrain on Earth. Can't find any explanation why. We have had large sudden flood events on Earth, but maybe weathering orders the 'chaos' over time?
tokai··on Denmark Data Breach Exposes 8.8M People's Personal Data
At least they didn't mail a CD containing data on 5 million danes directly to the Chinese this time.

It really is a nothing burger this data has been leak multiple times, and is easy for any bad actor to get their hands on at any time should they need to.

tokai··on City building games have a Soul Problem pt.2
What I really would like to see from city builders would be cities that look like non-US cities.
tokai··on Upgrade your desktop: Ubuntu 26.04.1 LTS is now available
The audience is people that haven't realized that Ubuntu lost its way +10 years ago.
tokai··on 500k facial scans at UK stations yield no arrests, 1 false positive
UK is not a normal western country in this regard, and haven't been for a generation.

tokai··on OpenAI agent hacked Australian government website, PM says
Gottfrid Svartholm tried that defense but he still ended up spending three years in prison.
tokai··on 'That's so AI ' What gen Alpha's biggest insult tells us
This is super naive. And does not follow any other productive technology's trajectory.
tokai··on 'That's so AI ' What gen Alpha's biggest insult tells us
People actually do like AI slop. I run into older people all the time that think its beautiful and/or fun.
tokai··on 'That's so AI ' What gen Alpha's biggest insult tells us
Discord is definitely one of the big ones for their generation.
tokai··on OpenAI is enlisting an influencer army to make it look 'good for the world'
>could even be part of the same organisation's campaign

Eh we know its part of the same campaigns. "Please provide us with regulatory capture because our tech is an existential threat" has been going on for a while now.

tokai··on No Easy Fix for Bogus Respondents in Online Opt-In Polls
I cannot find the paper again, but a small group of women giving birth in the US healthcare system do self report as virgins. There is not protecting for misunderstandings or malicious intent, even in person.
tokai··on Border agents can search cellphones without a warrant or reasonable suspicion
Rule of Law was very strong in Nazi Germany. Everything that regime did was legal in Germany at the time.
tokai··on Iran school bombing: grounds to believe US was behind atrocity, UN finds
the classic gotcha that doesn't work on outsiders that don't care about the partisan devide. All US presidents going back for quite a while are war criminals.
tokai··on Iran school bombing: grounds to believe US was behind atrocity, UN finds
>the analysis quickly showed

Wasn't the analysis a literal image with the Tomahawk caught mid air, clearly identifiable?

tokai··on GLM Built Its Own Inference Infrastructure
For one you would have to use Claude if you pick it. But seriously there is no way for you to determine if one is a better offer than the other, when the usage/tokens/credits are vague, detached, and won't tell you much without trying both.
tokai··on How GLM built its own inference infrastructure
It didn't read as harsh. Only unaware and you broadcasted that you don't have the decency to do basic searches.
tokai··on GLM Built Its Own Inference Infrastructure
300M for two weeks is surprisingly low. What are you doing that need so few tokens?
tokai··on Japan's book scene is moving from bookstores to libraries
You can always spot the Americans because any talk about libraries will turn into whining about homeless people existing. You should fix your social system.
tokai··on EU chief opens door for Canada to become 'associate member'
You guys are clueless. Just because you don't understand the org and why it isn't exactly like the US doesn't make your vague misplaced opinions valid.
tokai··on The Beauty of Roundabouts
No it isn't unless all driver all break the law and don't stop for waiting pedestrians.
tokai··on Global bond yields hit 2008 highs, raising stakes for big borrowers
Eurobonds being discussed again maybe?
tokai··on Largest known Roman mosaic, beneath Baths of Trajan, opens to the public
Smallest picture possible for the largest mosaic. I guess they don't want to pay licensing fees for a useful amount of pictures.
tokai··on New $100k H-1B visa fee pushes tech jobs offshore
So if you're not pro social dumping you're anti immigration? Weird when both are about chauvinism against foreigners.
tokai··on OpenAI bots knew about the RubyGems caching vulnerability
Because they dont have the money for hardware or compute obviously.
tokai··on Nike exits the S&P 100 after 18 years and a $200B market-cap wipeout
Too much money and too little sense.
tokai··on OpenAI agents carried out an undisclosed attack on RubyGems
Should obviously be a federal case not a civil one.
tokai··on Who People Talk to When They're Struggling

tokai··on The UN challenges five centuries of cartography
Really should be the default institutional projection.
tokai··on Flock Wants a Closely Surveilled World with No Exit
Uk has been widely know as a budding police state for years. V for Vendetta was written in the 80s partially as a commentary on the British states turn towards a police state.
