timothydl··on AI Has Cracked the Most Diabolical Problems in Math. Why Can't It Solve Chess?
Where's WOPR when you need it...
timothydl··on Show HN: Voyager 1 could've lasted MUCH longer
Even IF we had the technical capabilities in the late-1970's to have assembled the radioactive "engine" in space, the budget for the Voyager missions would have been blown WAY out of line with the multiple launches per probe.

What's the out-of-the-box solution you are using?
timothydl··on Show HN: Pushie – Get notified with a simple webhook
One confirmation and one suggestion...

Confirming: The Privacy Policy details that all notification data is deleted within 24 hours... Does this include any additional logging or analytics data?

Suggestion: I like the "Where can I use this?" section. I would suggest adding a couple of practical examples around the already provided list of ideas.

timothydl··on Show HN: Backtotal – the total is given, work back to the four digits
Four tries seems about right with the four digit game... Would need more tries if going to 5 or 6 digits.
timothydl··on Show HN: AI-first open-source alternative to Microsoft and Google Office
I had used LibreOffice for a while which ticks the box for Open Source and LINUX compatible. There are a number of AI "plugin" that one can use for LibreOffice, too...

How will you differentiate from a platform like that one?

Thanks for those extra details, that approach could be useful in many circumstances / scenarios. It almost reminds me of "punch-out" in the B2B world.

I would suggest that bringing the "full checkout experience" to chat is backward thinking--that approach adds more friction than a traditional checkout. The ideal flow is when checkout happens behind-the-scenes and the chat is simply a confirmation of purchase.
timothydl··on Show HN: Hybrids – a daily flower logic puzzle
I enjoy a good brain teaser--fun one!

My only suggestion, make the key slightly larger or a bit more prominent. At some point, the players will have solved enough puzzles to have it memorized, then a way to skink it back down...

timothydl··on Show HN: A shop that makes it hard to buy things
So, upload a Garmin file?
timothydl··on Show HN: KnotQ – Calendar and Organization Planner
Do you have an API? I use Tasqs (https://tasqs.com/) as my primary task management platform--it's particularly useful with its ability to connect to any AI Assistant (via its APIs and MCP connector). BUT, I like your calendar view better than the one it offers... What's your roadmap for data ingestion?
timothydl··on Show HN: Pause – weekly curated 1:1 coffee matches for London professionals
I love the idea of getting out of the "office" (in my case work from home) to meet people for real eye contact, discussions without technology, etc. I went through my LinkedIn contacts a year ago and filtered to those in my city. From that list I contacted a couple of people each day in an effort to meet for coffee, lunch, or adult beverages. It was excellent to have good conversations without a phone or laptop in hand.
