throwaway98797··on Don't paste the AI, please
ha! i like the negativity since the anonymous thing frees me to be me

i hate being civil!

throwaway98797··on Don't paste the AI, please
when people write me ai slop.

i either ignore. or if i trust them i just say “don’t use ai slop”.

anything softer is passive and morally judgy too.

i’m not here to tell them what’s globally right, only how i want them to interact with me.

throwaway98797··on Don't paste the AI, please
this maybe a me issue

any kind of softness in language like “i’ll-considered” sounds so sterile that i sense hatred underneath. too much time in big companies.

more sharing a crazy person take on how different words can be interpreted counter to the intent.

throwaway98797··on Don't paste the AI, please
don’t use ai when you write emails to me.

that’s direct and aggressive.

framing it as advice is the passive part.

throwaway98797··on I Spent Twenty Years Becoming Good at the Wrong Game
most jobs don’t require deep thought.

in LLM terms low to no reasoning is better than ultra.

throwaway98797··on Don't paste the AI, please
it encourages back and forth.

it trains people to expect things.

boundaries.

throwaway98797··on Don't paste the AI, please
it’s passive aggressive.

ultimately it’s better to not inform and start ignoring these people.

let natural selection work.

throwaway98797··on AI;DR (AI; Didn't Read)
it’s not that it’s ai generated it’s that it’s bad.
throwaway98797··on Suspicious Discontinuities (2020)
politics, can’t have the government give a dime to the rich directly.
throwaway98797··on Did my old job only exist because of fraud?
sometimes fraud leads to positive outcomes.

imagine a world where SBF didn’t defraud the crypto world.

in that world anthropic may have not existed.

throwaway98797··on The room the economy can't see
i wish i could codify voice.

probably someone has.

i’m not beyond being fooled, but when there’s voice there’s a human.

this is especially true with certain types of awkward phrasings that LLMs love to correct but humans don’t.

one day my internal filter will fail, but not today.

throwaway98797··on The room the economy can't see
you are so wrong. this is not ai.
throwaway98797··on GPT‑NL: a sovereign language model for the Netherlands
if something’s strategically important for safety it’s wise to have competency in it.
throwaway98797··on Apple Foundation Models
people use outlook when gmail exists.

employees will always suffer.

throwaway98797··on Not everyone is using AI for everything
some employers may like this wishy washy answers.

personally i find this offensive and would disqualify the candidate.

throwaway98797··on Claude Fable is relentlessly proactive
ain’t no one learning all of that
throwaway98797··on I design with Claude more than Figma now
no business person will ever want to consider the right tradeoffs without being forced to

the ai making assumptions can’t get it right

throwaway98797··on I design with Claude more than Figma now
let them launch and fail

it’s the only way they learn

throwaway98797··on The solution might be cancelling my AI subscription
yea find this so unproductive

as we grow we change

that is life

lots of things i cared deeply about 10 years ago that i don’t even remember now

i find self loathing a previous version of yourself to be a by product of religious thinking

yes the original sin is that you were born but for now you can enjoy your life do so

throwaway98797··on Google changes its search box
no it is not
throwaway98797··on Tim Cook's Impeccable Timing
profits 3.5x yet stock increased 12x

counterfactuals are hard

throwaway98797··on Average is all you need
adding LLMs to the incompetent doesn’t transform them

if anything it makes the world more dangerous

a reckoning is coming

the top decile will be janitors for the rest

throwaway98797··on What Being Ripped Off Taught Me
> End clients can’t tell the difference between these bozos and me. I don’t know what to do with that information but it feels bad.

this is only getting worse with ai.

all the artifacts of good work are there but none of the depth.

throwaway98797··on ATMs didn’t kill bank teller jobs, but the iPhone did
pretty degrading to call what they do useless

we all need to do something

throwaway98797··on Agent Skills
might be too early to standardize

standards are good but they slow development and experimentation

throwaway98797··on Ask HN: Is it still worth pursuing a software startup?
if you have to ask the answer is no.

if you are young there’s still hope that you can change your mindset and approach though.

if software can save time and make money than human capital then there will be demand.

throwaway98797··on Sergey Brin's Unretirement
life is phase oriented

when i’m working i find retired people boring

when im taking 6+ month break i find the nervous energy of employed people annoying

ultimately, comfort comes from being around like minded people

then again seeking comfort rings hollow to me, even though it’s quite enjoyable in the moment.

throwaway98797··on The suck is why we're here
