One thing is that the murderers are not punished. They are instead rewarded with paid leaves, pensions etc. The other thing is that police brutality isn't only about murder. There is assault, including sexual assualt. Most are not punished. Even if one gets sentenced, they might get out soon like this fellow.

That's very interesting. Do they deliver internet through WiMAX ?

Crowds without mask don't transmit? Where have you been this past year!!!

Remember the guy who rescued a lost hiker by deducing his location Sherlock-Holmes-style using a single photo? [1][2]. The story was trending on HN few days ago.

He's got a pinned tweet [3] that says "One of the key technologies which has helped in crowdsourced response to extreme weather disasters (fires floods hurricanes) these last years has been ability to monitor local emergency radio channels remotely. Let's get these everywhere. #raspberrypi #rtlsdr #scanner"

He (Benjamin Kuo) is a HAM Radio operator active during disasters.

It's different from what you wanted, but just putting it here.

In addition to education, as per the article, "They hired more Black and brown officers" ; "required any officer who uses force in any way to report it in detail, and for the supervisor to review it". Resulting in "The bad cops were suddenly outed."

It's not close to putting on a pedestal. They are just being given their fair share, no more, no less. Actually it's not even fair, as most of them are dead.

Works in India.

Many of these are addressed in the book 'Understanding Power' by Noam Chomsky. It's very readable. It's got hefty footnotes that are available as pdf [1].

Another book is 'How to Hide an Empire' by Daniel Immerwahr.

That link shows that things are improving every year in Newark.

It's on youtube [1]. They released another documentary with the same name and the same Newark subject with 2020 updates [2]. They both have the same duration but are different.
