While systemd isn't all bad and in some ways for sure an improvement over init (not that that is hard), there are also very questionable architectural decisions that have been made in systemd.
Next up you have the attitude of the two lead developers, Lennart Poettering and Kay Sievers and the way they handle community interaction and bug reports. If it doesn't fit into their rather limited view of how you should use your system and you break it, it's most likely not a bug they're going to bother fixing.

Last but not least, systemd is forcefully being pushed down our throats. Not with well-reasoned technical arguments, but with mostly emotional arguments about what they think is best for everyone. And since more and more of independent functionality is being integrated into and replaced by systemd, it becomes constantly more tedious to maintain software without hooking also into systemd.
There are no repercussions to not abiding by the law if you leave no (usable) evidence behind.

Dennis Ritchie is twice as bright as Steve Jobs, and only half wrong. -- Jim Gettys
Nothing about your shadow profile, though.
The journalists probably wouldn't notice and thus there would be no (noteworthy) PR and thus no reason to do it. But now that there's negative publicity he might just get around to that.
- Roman conquerors,
- Serbian conquerors,
- Holy Land crusades,
- Nazi holocaust..
The list goes on and on. And it always comes down to the same reasons. People wanting to exert power over other people, "liberating" them. The church in particular is especially known for that. Most wars were fought over "my god is the one true god and you have to worship him".
Does it ever stop? How can you know that those people will agree with you about what's best for them? How can you know they want to be a part of society at all?
I'm all for giving them a choice, but forcing them to live the way we think is best for them, e.g. making them give up their way of living entirely to live in brick and mortar houses and having to work factory jobs, isn't helping, it's exerting power and destroying a culture.
And destroy their culture and way of living in the process? Why? We don't have any right to force on them what you think is 'better' for them. That's happened so often in history, it's time that people finally realize that they do way more harm than good by forcing their views and 'standards' on others.

Online shops allow you to pay cash through payment on delivery (Nachnahme).
You can say the same about almost every other nation on this planet. Where are the outrages against Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, France, Great Britain, ...?
Isn't that their stance on pretty much everything? If it's not a US problem, they don't care. If it is, then it more often than not gets portrayed as a major problem for the entire world.
You got me with Roosevelt, though. I merely mentioned him for completeness sake, not to single him out. That was badly worded on my part.
Breckinridge Long is the very first name to prove that wrong. He was the US Secretary of State at the time Hitler was in power and gave Henry Ford permission to buy Nazi tanks while purposely preventing Jewish refugees from entering the US. He and Roosevelt also gave permission to the US companies I mentioned above to continue trading with Nazi Germany during war times.
For them, it wasn't so much about liberty and human rights as it was about business. That's still the case today. The US #1 trade partner is China, who happens to have a pathetic human rights record and is also still occupying Tibet. But opposing them in any way would be bad for business, so it gets shoved under the rug.
Out of sight, out of mind.
History is written by the winners, I guess, and all that pro-US propaganda that's so proliferate in the entire western world seems to be working really good.
Did you know that the US supported Hitler at first and big US corporations (I.T.T., General Motors, DuPont, Standard Oil of New Jersey, Davis Oil Co., and the Chase National Bank) all continued trading with Germany during the war because there was money in it and the US politicians didn't want to give those big corporations a big sad?
The US is the "global peacekeeper" only when the target country they're invading doesn't want to go along with whatever the US wants. The UN is a whole lot more global peacekeeper than the US will ever be.
Without any evidence, it's nothing but pure speculation and rumor-mongering.
This fine isn't nearly enough, as Google will have earned much more than that and stands to earn a lot more in the future, simply because they used their overwhelming market share to kill off competitors. They'll just do it again and again because in the long term it profits them way more than playing fair.
The perfect example for that would be how superheroes are being portrayed based on their gender and barbie dolls in particular are a bad offender of subconsciously changing girls and young women into that role model of always looking perfect and aiming for that marriage as their life goal.
Edit: Someone commented on this, telling me how Black Widow, among others, don't fit that stigma. Since he deleted his comment before I could respond, the answer to that is simple. Black Widow isn't directly portrayed as a 'typical' woman, but think about the way she acts. Does she show brute force and kicks asses everywhere she goes, or does she use cunning and her looks to make men dance around like puppets?
She may not fit the role model at the first glance, but on a deeper, more abstract level, she works as well as any at subconsciously influencing teenagers into roles based on their gender.
