theunamedguy··on Rockbox 3.14 released
Even the iPods are no longer officially manufactured by Apple. However, there are still many options for getting a DAP nowadays, eBay is one.

Disclaimer: I'm a dev.

theunamedguy··on Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection
Heck, I personally ported them to Rockbox so they run on my MP3 players now!

theunamedguy··on Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection
When you read the word "portable," you'd better believe it. The entire project is designed for elegance and simplicity, and the developer docs are a pleasure to read.

theunamedguy··on Show HN: EatHow – Figure out what to make with the food you already have
This looks great! I spotted a typo with the word "neccesary" a bit down the page, however.
theunamedguy··on Ask HN: Physical device for 2FA auth
Yes, exactly. It's called the "otp" plugin.
theunamedguy··on Ask HN: Physical device for 2FA auth
In a shameless plug for myself, I recently worked on an open-source side project for digital audio players (a.k.a. "MP3 players") that handles the client end of a 2FA system.

This form factor offers several advantages over a phone: first, some devices can automatically type your 2FA code by posing as a HID device, and second, some devices support hardware AES which makes it difficult to clone your tokens.

It's been merged into the Rockbox project: http://rockbox.org

theunamedguy··on "Another World" source code review (2011)
By the way, I did manage to port this to run on Rockbox (for MP3 players) a while back:

Even better, you can use spacing within a line to create a 3-D effect to emphasize certain words: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASCII_stereogram#Text_emphasis
theunamedguy··on New GNU Emacs website
Works for me, but it's slow
theunamedguy··on New GNU Emacs website
https:// site is down, http://www.gnu.org/software/emacs/ is live.
theunamedguy··on Signs That You're a Good Programmer
It's the opposite of a duplicate, actually.

Incompatible computer

This computer and/or connection speed are not capable of handling the full effect of the Force. You can still watch the video below.

theunamedguy··on One-Time SSH Keys
The idea behind this initially was to have 1 key available on say, a flash drive, as a last-resort option for remote logins. This way, even if the key is stolen, it can't be used.
theunamedguy··on One-Time SSH Keys
I didn't think of that. Thanks for pointing that out.
theunamedguy··on One-Time SSH Keys
Fixed ;)
theunamedguy··on Show HN: A tool that transforms your whole list with just one example
Great tool, but too bad it can't handle code very well.

An example (converting C++ to C):

    Input:
    void FileStream::write(char* , int);
    void VirtualMachine::cycle(int);

    Example:
    void FileStream_write(char* , int);

    Output:
    void FileStream_write(char* , int);
    void VirtualMachine_cycle(int* , );
Also, is it open-source?
theunamedguy··on Explore Math using Lua
Same. I don't think any of the tests work properly.
theunamedguy··on Ask HN: Dictionary based password generator source code – useful or useless?
> edit: Just a reminder: check your randomness source for security!

This should be your first thought when doing ANYTHING security-related.

Insane.

What's next? Moving cars.

theunamedguy··on College student in search of freelancing advice
Open-source is a great place to start, and (I'd think) looks great on a resume.
theunamedguy··on Show HN: New Hacker News web client
It'd be nice if this had infinite scrolling.
