Honestly, I like the concept of this game. If you dropped all the proper names you mentioned and just call it "Just Be Nice" it would be palatable to 1000x bigger audience. You don't need to be religiously motivated to find it challenging to be nice in particular scenarios. It's a theme I've never heard of explored and I would like to play it (but without the Mormon stuff)
Firebase is Google. I don't know why they deserve different levels of trust. If Firebase has your permission to harvest your sync info, there is no reason to think this doesn't get copied right on over into googles 'track every click and movement' apparatus.
That's interesting, I thought public playlist listeners would just use YouTube. If not to have access to your own musical choices, what is the point of Spotify?
there are a lot of people in the "not that great" and "still into it I guess" camps. Those just don't make headlines. Also, some morons can only read headlines. Don't worry, the world is not as idiotic as the headline writers and readers.
In this case, someone who made a playlist. Reputation of the knowledge and tastes of the playlist maker would normally matter, but since this is purely a numbers game at this point the only thing that matters is the number of followers on the list made. "Curator" makes a list of popular songs, gets a bunch of followers on the playlist, then sells placement on the list. "Curator" has really lost it's meaning here.
Just don't use public playlists. You can already disable explicit. Disable "autoplay similar songs when your music ends". This is Spotify itself selling playlist placement though, not public playlists being manipulated for payola. No one can stop payola on a public list, just don't use public lists.
As far as I know, this is also an image commonly used in machine learning tutorials for image classification of species of flowers. I don't know if the tutorials use the mediawiki source directly though. I do recognize this image though. I think it's in the SciKit Learn O'Reilly book.
Why all the graphs and details about bandwidth when latency from the controller to the screen is really the thing that matters. They mention it several times and never show any measurements.
It won't. Look at 4chan. It's one of the "free-est" platforms around and it's absolutely full to the brim of garbage that most people do not want to see. Let them build a cesspool for themselves, it's not going to draw a huge crowd as long as well moderated alternatives exist.
Many have. This is more or less how I learn every new programming language. Generative music is really fun and immediate. Anyway, I think the first time I ever saw anyone introduce recursion into music generation was Giles Bowkett's Archaeopteryx. That was way back in the days when Ruby was still young and cool. He did some interesting stuff for keeping a stable clock in ruby using recursion without blowing up the stack, but also managed to use the same technique for generating variations on probabilistic sequences. Pick your language and you will find people doing small projects like this all over the place.
Ultimately I want to support devs who support Linux, but if it works on Proton doesn't it also get the flag on steam for support of SteamOS/Linux. I am only going by the Steam flag.
Seriously, people don't understand how opt-outs are nonsense. Say I am facebook. In 2020 I make an opt-out data grab. I turn it on and grab all the data, and then put up a site to opt-out. Then in 2021 I make another grab with a new opt-out. They literally don't care who opts out, they never need to even look at that list because they already grabbed it all.
There are a lot of people who don't care at all about their personal info, and the only negative effect of an identity theft is having to call the bank and changing your CC# (my mother for example who has had her ID stolen multiple times because she is careless with her personal info)
the fact that you were at any time automatically opted in means they already scraped your whole history anyway. They will do it again in the future anyway since you will be automatically opted in in the future too. Get Zuckerd
In EU you would have to opt in since there are actual data protections for consumers (that's if it is abusing user specific data which I have to assume it is)
looks cool, and the breakout board is nice, but they don't show how it attaches to the pi. it's aluminum yeah, but does it actually do anything for heat dissipation?
