Can't say I've seen this in Ireland, I found that good experienced developers are highly valued. Do you think it's worse in places like SF than the rest of the USA ?
I can understand this POV. Has there been any rumors that the Android team might adopted flutter ?
For cross platform work, C++ is hard to beat and no languages comes close when it comes to tooling. For example, I can debug from Objc into C++ using XCode or Java to C++ in Android Studio.
This is common for most mobile development including Flutter.
>Flutter will enable full cross-platform development across iOS, Android, desktop, web and beyond with one codebase.
I’ve seen desktop development mentioned a lot as well and was pretty excited, but right now it does not seem to support shortcuts, tabbing, drag and drop, multiple windows etc. Still, could be a very different story a year from now if Flutter starts to gather market share.
If you mean the current 4 iOS app running on 10.14, then i agree. If you mean project Marzipan in general and what it means to developers, well we just don't know yet. Its going to be the next WWDC at the earliest before we hear any new information on the topic and its overall goals/capabilities are yet to be fully defined.
Would you mind expanding on this point? Where I work, we do lot of C++ for the reasons you described but I have started to learn Go to see if its a suitable replacement.
Doesn't Elixir also have this problem?
Ikr, but we can't expect all our customer to upgrade just because our product is in UMP. When we looked at one of our products user base, we could see that over 50% used Windows 7. That ruled out UMP for the subsequent project.
