theremora··on Evaluating a job offer?
regarding options and anaylysis, Venture Hacks is an excellent resource, here is a specific post http://venturehacks.com/articles/option-pool-shuffle#more-11
theremora··on Evaluating a job offer?
here is some basic negotiation advice http://jobhacks.wordpress.com/2007/08/08/offer-negotiation-t...

regarding the comment to mention another offer, that is cool if you really have one. It wasn't clear if the poster was recommending a "bluff" which is not a good idea at all. More important than the offer is how will the experience increase your value in the market. http://jobhacks.wordpress.com/2007/08/01/career-equity/

theremora··on Y Combinator Feedback on Your Site: It hurts so good
thats all there is to the registration, an email address and password. With that the user can save their work history from which their graph is built. they can then find companies that are in their graph, get feeds from those companies regarding milestones and openings and save companies of interest. keep track of companies they submitted their resume to. they also can edit and add companies to the database,
theremora··on Y Combinator Feedback on Your Site: It hurts so good
Yeah, we have some really secret and highly proprietary stuff in there. :) Sorry, that is just an oversight, not meant to be like that.
theremora··on Y Combinator Feedback on Your Site: It hurts so good
Yes, I did mention exactly that in the post "Granted, the blame is mostly ours, due to a less than attractive design and muddy benefit message, maybe most could not see past that to get to the business proposition."
theremora··on Ask YC: Thinking of joining a startup - is this a red-flag?
issue of real estate and equity are not verbally binding. this has the potential to turn bad. they have something to divide, the equity. are you saying they have not incorporated and dont have stock? seems that you are not paranoid and this is indeed a red flag. Keep looking or wait until the equity issue is resolved.

thats how it works. Then to see matched companies, an email is all that is required for registration to be able to create a profile (past and current employers) and then have Genotrope create a graph of related companies which show up on the find page.

i dont know what that means? y (space) combinator in the database
theremora··on Please evaluate our site
thanks yeah, there is a flash version about ready to drop. it is overkill for the simple graph, but when we map all web 2 startups in boson. or compare two VC to see if they have invested together in the past, being able to zoom and pan will be more useful.
theremora··on Please evaluate our site
it is public knowledge what companies the founders and executives came from. Are you thinking connections like people they know ie friends . look at the graph for y combinator or ITA software and you will see what the connections refer to. Yes companies are the clients.

would you prefer karma rather than credits?

theremora··on Please evaluate our site
point well taken, since users can enter and edit the database of companies, how would you approach trying to keep some semblance of security for the database without knowing who is modifying it?

theremora··on An Offer
Go for it. The object is to get in the game. I am assuming you have checked out your company and seriously awesome fellas means they have quantifiable accomplishments. Have you negotiated with them at all? 100% of the shots you dont take, dont go in. Tell then you will accept the offer if they can up the salary to $70K. Wait and see what they say. read this http://tinyurl.com/2bb8ve

theremora··on Percentages for New Hires...
sorry to split hairs but 5 is less than 5+ so they say Manager or Junior Engineer 0.2 - 0.33

with the top range being for proven elite contributors.

going into the deal everyone has to receive similar stock offers, but after you prove yourself, the standouts can double or more, what the original grant was.

theremora··on Percentages for New Hires...
a tenth of a percent .001 to a quarter of a percent .0025 at best.
