Could you tell us a little more about domshot.
I just the other day looked at phantomjs and ended up using casperjs on top as it allowed to use standard selectors to pick the elements I wanted to capture.

My first iOS Application:
Wordpoke - "add, forget, remind, remember".
Its a tool to help you learn something new, aimed at "words" and "phrases" for the moment.

Is it possible to make this CSS effect work on the iphone? Is it a matter of tweaking the CSS or is it due to the limitation of the iOS Browser? Im curious of how smooth it looks on the iPhone. Would happily have checked a different mobile... but I dont have one of those.
What exactly are they funding in? Please explain, im a developer who clearly fails to understand business.
Edit: Please feel free to email if you would rather keep this thread clean from this detour.
GCHQ ( UK ) released http://www.canyoucrackit.co.uk/ to try and gather interest aiming specifically at a target market.
"It said that the Cabinet Office supported "initiatives such as the Cyber Security Challenge, which promotes careers in cyber security via annual competitions and events"." http://www.bbc.com/news/technology-15968878
If the parties involved did a little research on some people on reddit, they may have found someone who would be curious and self motivated into publishing it on reddit.
When the GCHQ challenge was launched there was huge publicity on reddit, strengthening the above statement that there would be interest.
I for one am quite looking forward to hearing how this unravels as the person who triggered it (assume for now), reached out, is at least keen to continue the publicity.
I think it might be more fitting if this was a new approach to recruit people for the NSA / Cryptography office for X company or organisation.
I deleted that connection, yet still my email address has changed to this new facebook account.
Unhappy.
It then appears they show you the Apple App Store.
This could lead to easier app discovery.
I think it highlights the focus we as technology advocates hold that technology can solve society based problems. Turn back the dial 50 years, we held our elders in far higher respect than we do today.
That said, I want to show you an example of something a bit more meaningful with skype and the older generation.

Clearly this is not for all people, yet I feel it is more interesting than just to ring up and hold a "30 minute" conversation because someone is paying you to do it. Not only that but I would bet it gives some of these ladies focus, purpose, still have something to give to society.
Knowing how many older folk play crosswords, I think an async game you can play is far more meaningful.
Take a moment to read his wiki entry and then ponder quietly to yourself, what sort of activities, Bertrand Russell would have championed today.
My Norwegian, is not good, yet daily as I discover I have remembered the "methods" or the "function names" to piece together sentences it becomes easier and allows me to focus on the code.
Lets pretend my Mummy/Mum/Mom signs up for this service, a realistic target audience, given an "isomething" from their geek son.
Firstly, I would have to explain to her what "xml" is then she would ask. Cant I print it with a nice little graphic or, does it come in another colour.
To the creator:
Do you cook yourself?
Do you keep pushing little features in or trying new things as you think of little ideas?
Will it work without internet?
Can I take a picture of a complicated part in the recipe?
Can you make it easy for me to post "how I mix bread dough" to youtube?
I love my daughter, I want to send her a recipe. Will you tell me when she reads it.
I have all these cut out recipes, could you do something magic (ocr) and save me typing.
I too think this is a great market, there is clearly space for an innovative well made, well thought out product. You only have to look at ravelry to see how "nongeeks" flock to something they can use to enhance their real world.
I use the app every day as I built it for me first, the internet second.
A blog post is in draft, waiting the "first update" as its all part of the learning curve I wanted to cover in my journey into iOS development.
A new update to the app will be arriving within 10 days, Apple willing. ( It was interesting to learn how to tackle upgrades to the database. )
Issues can be reported and progress can be viewed: https://github.com/freshteapot/wordpoke/issues
New features are not on that list.
The webpage for "wordpoke" is http://wordpoke.me
On the way to work, I realised I should and now will add it to my profile.
The iterations on developing browsers has gotten tighter and it is very much a thriving ecosystem of innovation. As people start using newer versions of all browsers, "pain" from yesterdays browsers will drop. Looking at the recent deal of Mozilla and Google, even with Chrome demonstrates quite clearly the huge value a good browser has for a companies bottom line.
Im not sure if there is a large deal of code sharing, yet I would imagine any effort to bring an "IE" browser to their mobile platform will have it working quite closely with the proposed "html5" spec. This in turn I think would force updates to the "desktop IE".
AeroVironment http://www.avinc.com/
"json packets" - I like.
I dug this up as im curious to know:
What it was costing to use the site before?
What the plan is to support the site, now that it is free (the experiment)?
From that link, there is some great feedback. http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2442724
Every company I have worked at with legacy sites to port/maintain have yet to allocate any resources to this problem. No matter how often I suggest it. Now we have a great reference for our bosses and selling to clients of the importance of it.
Food, when it was eaten inrelation to tiredness, light/medium or hard exercise(what type of exercise)
I certainly know my focus and "sharpness" does drop, yet it never drops at the same time(at least not obviously ie i have not measured it)
It was well written, but the content let it down.
I also think the numbers he quoted about buying learning material are a little off. Purely because they are quoting numbers which cover a broad range of media. Whereas duolingo is the web and maybe mobile apps.
I personally think the market is huge, I just felt the numbers were sexed up for effect.
The "avg" of user sentences to create a better version sounds very exciting from a tech point of view.
Glad you responded.
Honestly your comment sounds troll like.
Languages bring richness and expression. Im going to guess your from an English speaking country and only have english speaking parents.
Drupal shouldnt fork php, extensions were mentioned, rightfully. The author didnt go into explaining the "whys" for Drupal. As a non Drupal developer im curious to know some of the pain points.
There is no meat to this article and the actual "product" described by them is another Q&A type site.
I reached the bottom of it and felt cheated of my time.
