I'm not doing that, I'm pointing out that when you say only the most extreme conservatives are against porn you're giving your back to all the people that have been affected by this.
Saying "not all porn companies do that" is meaningless in this case, because there are good enough reasons to be against porn that don't have anything to do with religion.
I feel like in our society we're always beta testing everything before researching its effects, shouldn't we research the effects of internet pornography in kids before allowing them unlimited access to it? I think the same thing should be done with social media. There's obviously a thin line where you have to use common sense (where do we start and where do we stop?) but the consensus has always been that this is adult content just like violent movies and alcohol so it should be enforced in at least some way.
The porn industry exploits vulnerable women and ruins their lives, forces them to do stuff they never signed for and much more.
You trying to paint this issue as a white and black political thing makes you dismiss all the victims from this industry.
You're basically dismissing it as "if you're part of this specific political team you should support/be against this"
Not quite, have you not been following the news that new generations are worse with technology than the previous ones?
Minors barely know how to use a computer nowadays, they only use smart phones.
Yeah this, if I want to know how many chapters are there in a game, I have to real an entire article telling me useless stuff before I can get the info I want. Witj ChatGPT I can avoid this. I would say most of my Google searches were for answering questions, not to find articles related to a topic.
Private servers were so much better than matchmaking in my opinion, there was a sense of community to the game and you would make friends. Now playing with randoms (all of them in their own private discord parties) feels like playing with NPCs.
I have many reasons to distrust a study like this anyway, just like a lot of medical studies trying to find causations in everyday activities.
1. If the results aren't controversial it probably wouldn't get published ("dark mode is good for your eyes" is a boring result)
2. They can discard results that contradict the thesis without having to make them public.
3. How many people do we need to trust the results of a study like this? Whatever the number you think of, they probably used less than that.
When it comes to stuff like this, you can probably find studies stating the opposite anyway, it's not like there's a consensus on this stuff.
If that's the difference (the time it takes) isn't that something we addressed a long time ago when computers could do long divisions way faster than any human? You know, the fact that computers can "think" faster than humans. Therefore the fact that it takes longer for a human to write that essay doesn't mean he's having a different process.
I remember Louis CK made a joke about this, in regards to pedophiles (who are also rapists), what are we doing to prevent this? Is anyone making very realistic sex dolls that look like children? "Ew no that's creepy" well I guess you would rather them fuck your children instead.
It's one of those issues that you have to be careful not get too close to, because you get accused by proximity, if you suggest something like what I said before people might think you're a pedophile. So in that way, nobody wants to do anything about it.
These people behave just like the irrational fanboys, except they just do the exact opposite. Being a sheep and being a contrarian sheep are the same thing.
Funny enough it would be hard to find anyone with more CEO experience than Musk. This doesn't mean he does all the management, often the work of these guys is to find the right people to do the management for them.
You make me feel like a weirdo for hating ads and not wanting to see any of them. And if they're specifically aimed at me and make me more likely to spend money, even worse. I get tempted and then I feel like an idiot for spending the money I worked for on balls shaving machines and flexible pants that look like jeans on the outside.
I think a lot of people are making the mistake of believing that just because Tik Tok isn't any worse than Facebook or Instagram, then it isn't bad at all.
They're all bad for a number of reasons.
I would also add that it's impossible to find direct causation in psychology or sociology because it's impossible to have all the variables when it comes to humans. So this is the best we can get.
I think it's not just social media and cloudy stuff, I also don't use those things, but if I want to buy a TV I have to look on how to avoid ads in it, if I install the new Windows I have to look up how to make it stop spying on me.
The worst part is that all apps on smartphones now require subscriptions, which makes them virtually useless for me, I was willing to pay for a useful program, but I'm not gonna subscribe to one, so I just use my phone for the most basic stuff now.
This doesn't make any sense as one of these is logically less in volume than the other one, since it's just a reaction to the first virtue signaling.
It's probably more tiring to you because you post stuff like that a lot.
I really like the thought of doing 6 curls a day. Yet I go into the comments and people here are talking of doing 5 minutes of curls every 30 minutes, which sounds insane.
Yeah same, the internet of early 2000s was a super cozy place for me, I remember everyone at first was like "wow it's so amazing how you can be someone else online," now the internet is just a giant window to your life. I remember my mom telling me to never share any info about me online, now everyone has their entire lives uploaded, full name, face picture, phone number, it's all there.
Funny thing is it didn't actually get any less dangerous, people just decided that if everyone did it then there's no problem.
